Heres a question.

1.)Say I ussually eat about 3500 calories a day. 350 to 400 of those being carbs. About 120 fat. And 200+ protien.

2.)If I were to eat 2500-2800. About 180carbs per day and eat 150 of those carbs in the am, then work out. After my workout eat low carbs for the rest of the day. About 100 fat. And still 200+ protien.

Would I gain as much muscle on the 2nd diet as I would on the 1st? Why or why not? I'm thinking that the carbs I eat in the am will give me energy for my workout, then the carbs for the rest of the day aren't really all that neccessary. After my workout for the day I'll eat a lot of protien. Please correct me if I'm wrong. This way I can gain muscle like I'm eating for muscle gains, but still loose fat.

You need simple carbs in abundance right after you lift. Many people around here put dextrose powder in their post-workout shakes, in 2:1 proportion to the protein powder.

These carbs are essential, to replenish muscle glycogen and to stimulate insulin release.
