because im at college i eat a lot of foods that are high in sodium... to counteract that should i be eating more than normal potassium? and yes i drink a lot of water

I go to college also Im there for abot 6-7hours straight and there isn't anything to eat. What I do is on those days that I go to school I take some ready to drink Myoplex and a Meal replacement bar and some water that's pretty much what I eat when Im there. And since Im on a bulking diet I stop eat a Jumbo Jack w/ cheese and water, That gives a good head start.

i live in a dorm room.. and i eat a lot of jerky egg beaters lunch meat tunna and caned chicken tho also fat free shreeded and sliced cheeses so i consume quite a bit of sodium but i guess i do sweat out a lot

Just keep your sodium levels constant, regardless if they're low or high. Drastic sodium intake fluctuations up or down is what causes the water retention fluctuations. Your body should naturally balance itself based on your usual sodium intake.
