I'm going to a stricter diet for 4 months of 3700 calories (20 x bw) hoping to add some weight. Here is what I want to do. Now I need to figure out what this breakdown is, and I hate digging for this info. So, this might need tweaking. Anybody good at this feel free to step right in and help:D I'm shooting for a 40/40/20 breakdown. Feel free to comment on this and make better suggestions.

Meal 1
Optimum Nutrition MRP
1 cup oatmeal
10 grams flax seed oil

Meal 2
8 eggs (6 whites)
4 slices turkey meat
2 slices whole wheat bread

Meal 3
5 oz. grilled chicken breast
1 cup brown rice
4/5ths cup peas

Meal 4
1 can tuna
1 apple
2 slices whole wheat bread
5 grams Flax seed oil

Meal 5 (Post workout)
40 grams whey
35 grams malto
35 grams dextrose
1 banana

Meal 6
8 oz. steak
1 baked potato
1 cup peas

Meal 7
Optimum MRP
8 oz. skim milk
2 TBSP natty PB
1/2 cup 2% cottage cheese

Now I just need to figure up all my calories to see where this lands:eek: This is something I think I could stick with and not get so tired of daily. I do not plan to use any more creatine. I will use glutamine later when I start cutting. Supplements for now will be only protein, multis, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and flax seed oil.

Comments or suggestions?

Is it bad to take flax before bed? I could move that to then since I want to put the flax in either a shake or mix in with tuna. I just need the fat and not sure the best time to take it.

Don't know about the flax, but the diet sounds good. Maybe I should start to count my cals :hide:

I had read somewhere that flax was best taken at bedtime..I forget why but I've always done it that way.

Thanks stray. I'll move the flax to evening and cottage cheese to earlier in the day.

You win heathj:D

Heath asked about before workout.

Before bed is very good because if you eat a slow digesting protein like casein and some flax the food will take longer to digest and you can spare some of the 8-hour fasting catabolism.

galileo, yeah but in my journal heathj suggested I move the flax to night and swap with the cottage cheese.

Good to know that. But should I eat the 2 Tbsp natty PB too with the flax. Is that too much fat before bed?

;) How about moving the pb to either meal 3 or meal 6. Doesn't seem like you have much fat in those.

I think the more balanced the better, so I agree with heath there.

I try to keep my meals in the split I am using. Not only does it make it easy to plan meals, but it makes my energy levels stay pretty consistend throughout the day.

OK, but if I have 2 Tbsp of PB that way.....it will have to be Jif. That way I can eat it right out of the jar LOL. Love Jif like that. I can take natty PB in a shake.....but that is about it.

Eat cottage cheese and flax before bed.

What brand of Natural PB do you have? I have Smuckers and it's great no matter what.

If you want to keep that shake, how about switching meal 7 with 2, taking one piece of bread out of there and throwing in the 5g flax before bed with that meal...So:

Meal 2
Optimum MRP
8 oz. skim milk
2 TBSP natty PB
1/2 cup 2% cottage cheese

Meal 7
8 eggs (6 whites)
4 slices turkey meat
1 slice whole wheat bread
5g flax

Or...if you don't want to eat two MRP's in a row...Make meal 7, meal 3, make meal 3 into meal 2 and make meal 2 into meal 7. Then take out the slice of bread and throw in the flax....:D
