And NONE OF THEM are near as good as Action Quake 2. Y'all SUCK if ye don't play that.

When DOD first came out I used to play quite abit of it. It sucked but I had OD of CS, so I had to play something else ;\

Jumping rope is fun. So is sex.

But comparing the two is kinda ridiculous.

And so it is with DoD vs. Clancy Series.

And nothing is as good as Action Quake 2. INCREDIBLY fast paced, realistic, gobs of fun. Takes immense skill to own on AQ2.

Go buy the ******* game. Quake 2 was awesome and ID is well deserving of the money.

As for action, I used to be an AQ2 addict in my dorm years, I was unstoppable, I was accused of being a bot on a nightly basis.

And all of these games suck compared to Battlefield:1942. Historically, gameplay wise,game variety(even the variety during the rounds) and scope is unmatched.

Want a tank? Get in one and drive away. Want a plane? Get in one and take off. Want a boat? Take the helm of the superdestroyer and bomb enemy outposts. Shoot planes out of the sky with flak or dogfight, huge naval battles, tank warfare, epic scale battles and air raids, dynamite and land mines, snipers and anti tank soldiers. DOD? **** that.

I do realize the netcode is kind of screwy, but LAN play is incredible, and net play is awesome with a good server. Its one of two games I play these days. The other is Action Half life, though not very much.
And HL is based on Q1's engine. And I hate the Half Life engine.




Ok, I play Starcraft every now and then.Hell, last week the guys and I had a 5 player Grand Theft Auto ONE game. Awesome!

I would but quake 2 if I could find it in stores. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault kicks the most ass of any game i've seen lately. So **** go out and buy that ******* game!

Budiak, what name did you play under on AQ2?

I played under lots of them. I started one of the first AQ2 clans around, the Space Monkey Warriors [SMW]. I also joined the REAL [WOODIE] clan (not the joke thing that CAP started) as Puny[WOODIE].

I was playing Doom deathmatches over a 33Mhz modem before it was cool. :) Actually, Doom deathmatches with the aliens.wad file was the best; there was something extra-creepy about the modpack that made everything like the movie Aliens...


Budiak: Yeah, Starcraft still rocks. Every so often I'll reinstall it and play a couple of pub games until I get sick of ****** punk kids that wanna do nothing but 6-pool 'gling rushes on smallish maps or the endless iterations of 'Hunter$$$$$' maps.

Some of the best games I've played of SC were just with friends, like 3 vs 5 comp or so... epic confrontations.
