View Full Version : What do you call these guys in english?
Reinier

they drink beer and play golf and tennis and wear polo shirts.
their fav conversation topics are their/their dads (depend on age) 4 yaughts, 3 homes and 5 cars.
they talk like they have a potato in their throat and in holland they all play fieldhockey. they refer to the average citizen as plebs, workers, groundlins etc
button shirts and rib pants are totally theirs and boat shoes and sailing jackets are logical...
i imagine social groups being somewhat similar abroad what would you call these guys. i guess snob comes close but its not exactly the same

Relentless

snob isn't a bad choice for dolts like that
other ideas:
snooty
snotty
high and mighty
stuck-up
arrogant
supercilious
toffee-nosed or 'toff' (British slang?)
fortunately not everyone that is born into wealth grows up to be an arrogant prick like the people you've described...

lol most my friends are these guys.
its not JUST that they are rich and look down on people alot its more. you also got to sail. in holland sailing = elite. you aint **** till you got a yaught. really always been that way- (from the 18th century on when holland was like on top of the world, mainly cuz of sea trade)
also you need to dress classy, even tho most the time they dress classy in a tacky way.
and they have all these fashion words that they pronounce in their special potato way too

i think theyre ok actually, at least they throw the best parties over at the fieldhockey club. therell be a tournement for the whole weekend and like 40 teams will be there but they only play as an excuse to be there... if theyre losing bad theyll say the others just didn`t drink enough beer...

I'm not trying to sound like that. I mean if money means that much, why not give 100% to being rich.

You mean all those folks you were with in that picture you posted under My Crew are like you are describing? I never would have thunk it. Looked more like ordinary young teenagers do here in America to me.

To add to Callahan's statement:
Or a douche-bag.
I was thinking more along the lines of frat boy...but douche-bag is quite appropriate as well.
I really think the word you're looking for is "preps" or "preppies"
