sup to all the wannabebig members. well this is my officail nutrition/training journal, and i'm hoping that it will keep me accountable.

i started training seriously back in Aug of 98 and trained until Oct of 00. when i started, my intial weight was aproximately 152 lbs. by the time i stopped in Oct, my weight peeked at 194 lbs. since then, i have not performed any serious trainning, but i'm ready to start again and just become massive. during the progression of this journal, i will attempt to post pics of my progress. here is a little 411 on were i stand at the moment:

age: will be 21 on November 7th
weight: 186.8 lbs
height: 6'
bicep flexed: 14.25" forearm flexed: 11 9/16"
thighs flexed: 22.5" calves flexed: 15.5"
chest: haven't had the opportunity to measure yet.

*my goal is not to be the strongest mofo in the gym, i just want to be the biggest. i say this because if someone is lifting heavier weight than myself, i'm happy for them, but i could care less. no ego here.*

here is my starting trainning split:
sunday -- off
monday -- chest & abs
tuesday -- shoulders & biceps
wednesday -- calves & abs & forearms
thursday -- quads & hams
friday -- back & triceps
saturday -- off

any feed back is welcome.

Nice pic man, that gal one the right looks familiar. I am sure I have no fuken clue who she is though.

On your lifting....almost looks like you could cut the number of warmups back a bit and use some heavier DBs for the worksets: kill the second set of 35 x 10 (in the DB milt ps) and go right to work with the 45s or even the 50s?

well keep in touch eric, you may never know what happens. by the way, how old are ya?

I am 23. Ya you never know man. I hope everything goes through with bike week in all, would be a great time.

thanx for the advice, it will be used. you know, that could be a factor for why my chest doesn't grow the way i want it to, i don't may not be pounding on it hard enough.

First off another sweet pic!

Ya, I would only do a couple warmup sets, this is your flat bench movement:

flat db presses: 40x12, 50x12, 50x10, 55x10, 60x8, 60x7

I would do the 40s*12, then 55*8 (no sense going to failure on warmup), then 60s for three all out sets. There are many different options. After this I would think your chest is pretty well worked so there really isnt any sense in doing lighter weights when you move onto inclines and crossovers. Just go heavy right away. Of course if you feel more comfortable doing some ligft sets feel free. But if it were me I would probably use the 40s on the DB incline, and then then 50 on the crossovers. Hope this isnt confusing.

well i have used dead lifts before, and i'm not a big fan of them. i don't know if it's because my grip isn't strong enough to hold the weight i would use or if it's just that i tore my back up before doing that exercise.

---- pretty decent workout today; not one of my best. i will post later---

my triceps are a bit sore, and i am happy about that. my legs are still sore as a biznitch. i am totally looking forward to my chest workout this monday. it isn't very often that i am this excited about a workout. i'm kinda curious to know if i have gained anything when i step onto that scall on monday morning. i just have to remember to eat tomorrow, eat like a madd man.

i haven't been very active today; i have pretty much just sat around my computer and tv watching some football and playing a little video games.

I only read your last post, so pardon my ignorance, but why are you taking cell-tech right before bed? It should be taken after a workout or first thing in the morning. That begs another question, why are you taking cell tech in the first place? Regular creatine and dextrose works just as well for a fraction of the cost.

ericg
12-11-2002, 02:20 PM
Nice way to make a comeback! Good job. Will be back to your old lbs in no time, seems like u kept most of your strength.

kartwheel
12-11-2002, 02:25 PM
vido --

first, i hadn't decided whether or not i wanted to start taking my creatine yet or not, so i made my decision a little late.
second, i was so full from eating most of the day, i couldn't seem to force it down at any other time.
third, i know that i wanted some extra calories before i went to bed, but to full to eat, so it fit the bill.

i usually don't take it before bed.

why do i use cell tech? well it is the only creatine product that i have used thus far to be worth it's weight. straight creatine and grape juice never did anything. phosphagen hp from eas didn't do anything. efervescent creatine: nothing. so i don't mind paying $55 for a 7lbs bottle of the stuff that works.

if you have suggestions, i welcome them any time; i'm always open-minded.

Vido
12-11-2002, 02:30 PM
Cell-tech is creatine, dextrose, and a small amount of ALA. You can buy the ingredients and use them in the exact same proportions as in the actual product for much cheaper. I'm not saying it doesn't work. I just think there are more economical alternatives.

sorry i havent had time to fully look at your journal... but are you still doing shoulders after yor chest day?? and if you do, dont they ache like crazy then? i have to wait 2-3 days after chest to do any shoulders because my front delts get shocked from stabalizing the heavy weights. plus, i dont like to do front raises or else my shoulders would have died a while ago.

*water consumption = 1 gallon*

yeah, so diet today really sucked....but it was damn good.

ok so i'm starting to add a little color to the journal to see if it provides a little life to this thing. my legs are still sore as hell. i just can't believe it since i feel like i didn't do anything in the leg training workout. well, chest day today and i can't wait. i have finally realized that i need to do all my abdominal work before a workout or i won't do it. just get too tired immediately after the core bodypart training. well anyway, as always, kick ass.

I think the leg workout looked nice. I've looked over your journal and even on the last 2 workouts, I notice you did 22 sets on arms and 8 sets on legs. I didn't count # of sets on shoulders or chest but I noticed it was a lot. Might wanna balance things out a bit. Just a thought. You do a lot of sets.

GeneticallyGifted
12-17-2002, 09:57 AM
Please listen to eclips1, I was in the same boat as you, well I was doing higher reps for major body parts instead of arms, but same difference. Just make sure that you don't dig a huge hole that your body can't fill. You don't want to overtrain. I would also suggest that you legs get more sets then your arms, they are much bigger muscle group. Just dropping my 2 cents and jumping on the eclips1 band wagon at the same time.

Ya he has a good point...look at what u did for tris.

Think u can up the weight on those exercises a bit 35 x 15 -- 35 x 15 -- 50 x 10 -- 50 x 10 -- 50 x 10 -- 50 x 12. Dam put more weight on the bar boy!!!

something like: 35*15 ntf, 50*10 ntf , 70*fail, 50*fail

Question for ya. what exactly is your split?

nice leg day, ever think of doing SLDLs?

yeah, i'm gonna balance it out...... it's just that this was like first real leg workout in months, so i knew i was going to be sore from what i did...... eventually i will be doing like 5 to 6 sets of squats, plus leg curls, leg extensions and probably some leg presses or hack squats......

i love to volume train..... i don't believe that more is always better, but just training to hit a high volume is what motivates me. that is how i went from a bodyweight of 150lbs to 193lbs in a matter of about 19 months.

as i look at it, i try to anywhere from 14 to 18 sets per bodypart right now..... chest i had 14..... shoulders & traps i had 20..... back i had 17..... now sometimes that will change depending on the circumstances of the day or week......

but don't get me wrong.... i definetly appreciate any imput that you provide..... i don't know everything, and if i happen to learn something, it will only assist me in the future....... so post away

Still would add some weight to some of your exercises. I mean all that tricep work in the 10+ rep range. take a couple out and replace them with some 5-8 ME sets, then drop back to lighter "for the burn" set LOL - gotta feel the burn, pump !

not a bad day it was, if i do say so myself. in the middle of this workout though, i realized how much of a wuss i have been with my weights......made me think about all my exercises a little differently, like i was being cautious for some reason, but i haven't a reson......

5:05 am -- woke up
6:20 am -- prolab shake
9:15 am -- champion nutrition protein bar [32g protein/9g carbs] & peanut butter crackers
2:20 pm -- burger king -- 2 double cheese burgers & onion rings
4:05 pm -- began workout

db military
25'sx15 -- 25'sx15 -- 50'sx10 -- 50'sx10 -- 50'sx9 -- 50'sx10

db front raises
20'sx10 -- 20'sx10 -- 20'sx10 -- 20'sx10

db laterial raises

upright cable rows
95x10 -- 95x10 -- 100x10 -- 110x12 is it just me, or does anyone see that i must have been wussing out here and during the earlier part of the workout. last week on upright rows i used only 95lbs!

smith machine shrugs
135x15 -- 225x10 -- 225x10 i could hardley hold that weight to do shrugs

5:12 pm -- workout done
5:30 pm -- prolab shake & cell tech & 10g of glutamine
7:40 pm -- shepard's pie
9:42 pm -- nightrest supplement
10:15 pm -- in bed

so after that workout on friday, i'm going to be paying closer attention to the weights i'm using. i don't really know if it is because i have been slacking off, or is it that the cell tech is really kickin in now after about a week and a half and im noticing it? either way, i have no complaints.....kick ass.

well about the party......

the female that i have been trying to start dating originally asked me to this party with her. well she became a little under the weather the day before new years eve. so needless to say, she didn't feel well the next night, so i didn't end up doing anything with her on new years. it also happens that on new years, it was pouring down rain here, which really suck balls, because nobody wanted to go out in the mess....... so what did i do, well i chilled at home with my red bull & vodka and got drunk with my mother, which by the way, i have never done with my mom. and it turns out that it wasn't too bad.....saved me a lot of money also.
