i recently did a reading and my systolic blood pressure was at 144. That is medically considered to be high blood pressure. Does anyone know what this is caused by?
I am thinking it is because I eat a lot of chicken and fish regularly cause i need the protien for making gains. Either that or im maybe doing too little cardio? I have recently started running 20 minutes straight before my workouts.

High blood pressure can also be aggravated by stress I think. And maybe high cholesterol...you have your cholesterol counted?

your BP will vary depending upon what you're doing at the time. usually rises during exercise and falls during sleep, just varies throught the day. take it on the same arm during the same time everytime to get consistant #'s.

Were you resting, had you been walking , when did they take it, and what were you doing prior to it?

i walked with my buddy and he read a 122 systolic bp..

anyways, question is how would i control systolic bloodpressure?
i go to the gym 3 times a week and almost never eat junk or red meat so i don't get it...
