Ive been doing my new diet about 2 weeks now to try and gain mass. Im consuming about 3400 cals a day, its
been working out at about 55% carbs, 22.5 % protein, 22.5% fat (by calories not weight)

But Im on the can 3-4 times a day... and each one is a fair portion without
being too crude.

Am I flushing out & wasting lots of the good i am putting in ?

Perhaps I have started eating too much too soon ?

Im 155lbs, 5'7". I used to have 1 or 2 dumps a day when i ate 3-4 meals
approx 2000 cals total.

Yep, you eat a lot you crap a lot.

When i'm going hypocaloric, i'm on the crapper maybe, 1x a day.

After my friday lifting session i start carbing up, and i'm on the crapper every 2 hours. Its quite annoying actually, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Just to let you all know, Ive only had one crap today... perhaps hearing about all your toilet habbits has settled my guts :thumbup: ... still time for another yet though :fart:

Smitty, at 155lbs, why have you jacked your calories all the way that high so fast?

3400 is well over x20kcals/lb!

Have you tried lower calories with little success or something?

Carbs don't break down as much during digestion so that might be the culprit of your pooing-problem. Well, it's not a problem, but annoyance didn't start with a 'p' for my cheesy one-liner.

I use flax seeds when I eat steak to help digestion, then im on the shitter2-3 times a day,

without the flax seeds or if im training just once:fart:

good point, it's not healthy. when I AM healthy, I go maybe twice a week.

To be honest TCD I went for 6 meals a day, & 160g+ of protein, whilst maintaining a fairly low fat diet. I then started counting the calories and found i was hitting about 3400. I am developing a bit of a tyre TBH, and after having my abs out all summer this is somewhat hard to take :-( But im intent on looking big in a normal shirt, not just a tight top.

I am gonna trim it back a bit to 3100, I sit on my arse all day at work too, so this should be enough to gain mass. Surely its not possible to put on mass without developing a little fat round the middle though.

I would shoot to gain about 1-1.5 lbs per week. A gradual increase in cals would be my suggestion and also would be easier to monitor progress. I think you said it the best, "a little fat around the middle."

I personally think for a natural trainer 0.5lbs a week is ideal.

However, it depends how advanced the trainee is.

I crap 1-2x per day. Its all good baby. :D:D
