I've been hearing a lot of good stuff about Isomatrix (outside the forums), and I finally purchased a 2lb bottle. I take it only before bed--let me tell ya, this stuff is good! When you wake up in the morning, you don't have that growling stomach feeling, as if your body has been yearning for food/protein since 4am--you actually feel satisfied. For those of you who don't know, Isomatrix is a protein blend including Egg Yolk Protein...and its making a lot of noise in the supplement shops around Boston. My lifting partner has been taking it for a few months, and has had to reserve bottles everytime. I haven't been taking it for too long, so I am not saying it is definitely the real deal, but I'd highly recommend trying it...it ran at about $28.95 for 2lbs before the discount (not exactly cheap!).
Now I need a whey supplement for post workout, the question is Optimum or Simply Whey???

Either, or ...they're both fine. As for the isomatrix, sounds cool but rather expensive for a simple protein source. I, personally, just eat some cottage cheese and a protein blend mixed w/ milk. Works fine for me and is much, much cheaper. If you really want the egg protein, fry up an egg =).

Which protein blend do you use that is much much cheaper?
And the idea Isomatrix uses is extracting Egg Yolk protein, without the cholesterol & fat that accompanies eating egg yolks. Allegedly, the protein found in egg yolks is different than the protein found in the whites. I don't think it will become a huge trend like whey, but its an interesting concept.

Something like Optimum Pro Complex. You can get about 5 pounds for essentially the same price. I usually use it 1 hour post workout, but it's ace before bed too w/ my cottage cheese.

Optimum Pro Complex? I'll look for that next time....I've been looking for a good protein blend for a while. I like Myoplex and Met-Rx, but wayyyyyy too pricey.

Pro Complex is nothing big. It has whey, but throws in egg albumen for a slight mix. But it has extra BCAA, glutamine peptides, aminogen and all that good stuff. I like it.
