Tonight this guy followed me home, I guess he thought I tried to cut him off on purpose. He honked for about 20 seconds straight when I pulled in front of him, not cutting him off, just gettin on the freeway. Had about 20 feet between our cars. I'm 16, so I don't have much driving experience, but I think the guy was just lookin for trouble. He was doin all kinds of crazy **** on the freeway to get up to me and was just glaring at me through his window. I finally lost him, but I was kinda pissed. I mean he was full grown man, probably 21 or 22, and I'm still growing, so I didn't really want to take any chances fighting him, but I felt like a pussy. Just wanted to pull over and pop the guy in the mouth, but I've never been in a fight before. Yea, talk about no life experience. Anyways it just kinda pissed me off and I wanted to know what you guys thought.....

It is best that you didn't pull over. There are too many idiots with baseball bats, knives or guns looking for trouble, that it just isn't worth taking a chance.
Being a new driver, it might be possible that you cut it a little closer than you might think, but that is still no reason for the guy to go psycho on you. I would have just waved at him making an apologetic face and then just ignore him from then on.

I find that waving the gun around out the window or psuedo-reching for my piece under the seat seems to deter most aggressive mother****ers who feel the road belongs to them.

I just set the crowbar in the seat next to me and hold on to it in plain sight while staring at the jackass.
Sometimes I flip him a bird too.

This tiny little guy was riding my ass for a good 15 miles a while back, even though I was in the slow lane of a 2 lane street. We came up to some construction and the lanes merged into one, he tried to get in front of me but I just sped up enough so he couldn't, just to pay him back for being a dick. I waved at him with a huge smile on my face, and he shook his cellphone menacingly at me. I guess he was trying to say he could throw it pretty hard.
This reminds me of the first week i got my licence which wasn't too long ago:hide: .I was turning and i cut this older guy off than he followed me and got out of his car at a red light and nocked on my window so i locked everything and just ignore him than he went back to his car followed me for half an hour before he gave up.I was pretty scared cause the guy look pretty angry:soapbox:

Women can hire me to sit in their back seat with the Hooligan Tool for a mere $20 an hour. Then anytime someone tries that, boy will they be in for a treat!

I take the bus
I used to drive. My advice to you if you feel that you have to get out of the car is pop the trunk on the way out, make sure you keep your tire iron there. :D

When someone is messing with me like that I like to slow down enough for them to pass me and when they get right beside me I jerk the wheel and act like I'm going to ram them. Scares the hell out of them and puts a smile on my face.....so I guess its a win/win situation.
The trick is to have a good stereo system, and play AC/DC, Back in Black, Highway to hell, something like that, I dont have my license yet, but hard songs will keep the trouble makers away, it has a mental effect, like when someone gets tough in a movie, hard music comes on, try it, it works.

All joking aside depending on where you live u gotta be careful with the road. The anonymity of being in a car makes people do crazy things (kind of like the internet :) ).
I must admit that in my late teens I was a self professed lesson teacher on the road, particularly with people who would drive slow in the left lane and then jam on their brakes when you tried to flash 'em oooooh that would burn me up, i'd pass them on the right, get in front of them, and lay off the gas motioning with my thumb for them to move over until they did.
Anyhow, I was young and foolish and lucky that someone didn't go postal on me.
FWIW if you're ever in a situation, the best thing you can do is write down a licence plate number and have it handy. You'd be amazed at how calm and cool people get when they realize you've done that.
Drive safe :)
Well, Im gonna sound like quite the wuss here, but I just ignore people like that. I just chill and listen to my music as if nothing is happening. Im not looking for trouble, and when Im driving I have somewhere to go, so I dont have time to pull over and fight. Its worked so far.

you think that's bad.....i was talking to a girl here at work the other day and she told me some soccer mom looking lady in a mercedes flipped out when she accidentally cut her off, pulled out a gun and chased her all the way here to work screaming and waving it at her. she said she was petrified.

holy crap thats so wierd as almost the same thing happened to me.
I was driving, not too slow but not menacingly fast either, when some dumbass in an MDX cut me off to make a right turn from the left lane. Seeing as i couldn't stop fast enough i had to cut some guy off and get into the left lane. Well i pull up to a red light on the next street and the guy who i cut off gets out of his car and starts screaming his lungs out. I'm blasting music BTW my windows are rolled up and they are 15% tint on all sides (except the windshield of course). By the time i realize he is screaming at me, he managed to throw some plastic cup or something at my, this totally got my attention. Now i'm a really passive guy, i very slowly and calmly turned down my music, rolled down my window and listened to the guy for a few seconds. When it was clear he didn't understand the situation that i was in, i started reaching for my *disclaimer i don't want to offend anybody here, i just don't know what other name this weapon has* ****** beater (the thing that swings and pops out with a little weight on the end) in my glove box. As soon as the guy sees this, he calms down, tells me that he's sorry, and that he's having a bad day. I say its not problem, and i actually apologized for cutting him off and explained that i was forced too.
Lets just say, that this guy was a few seconds away from a serious ass beating. He was about middle aged, shorter than me, fat'ish with scrawny arms.
I usually avoid such situations, but when things get out of control, like this guys seemed to be (getting out of his car, throwing sh*t), you need to do something.
EDIT: i forgot to mention, i'm a really laid back kind of guy. I don't let stuff get to me (like traffic, someone screaming at me, cutting me off etc). I have also never intentionally started a fight or anything. I try and avoid all such things, living in brooklyn you don't really know who will stab/shoot your ass for something dumb.

i got limo tint all around, a black SUV, and a VERY loud system..
nobody ever tried to pull up next 2 me..
plus i usually drive with a beanie on, so i guess that could have an effect on people.. limo tint... beanie-wearing driver.. very loud profanity-filled rap music... big guy driving..
but since i know there are too many stupid people out there i carry a knife on me at all times... thank god i did not have to use it even a single time, but if things do come down to that and i am outnumbered/outweaponed, i would like to have some protection.
however i have certain rules of driving that i follow, and one of them is not cutting off people who drive fast.. however if an idiot it lagging it in the high speed lane then i will cut him off because i am fed up with them.
i also don't do anything to old people, no matter how messed up they drive.. i just respect their age.
oh and i hate most female drivers, especially when they talk on a cell phone and "attempt" to drive at the same time.

Dude, meat head, wait until you get mixed up witha motorcycle driver. I've heard lots of stories about someone who cut off a motorcycle rider and the ****er followed the guy until he parked and beat the **** out of him with his riding buddy. My friend that it was cool, I thought it was criminal.
I merged into a surface street once off of a highway offramp in front of a van, I look in my rear view mirror to see a guy on a purple cruiser coming up on the left of the van(in the same lane between the two cars, which is a gray legal area), and tried to merge into the lane where I was. Instead of taking it as simply getting squeezed out, he honks his little horn a thousand times, so I honk back. The guy looks at me like he's going to kill me. He turns his turn signal off and follows me, passes me, gets into my lane and slows to a near halt. Me, knowing that this is extremely dangerous and stupid, I swerve around him because I'm unsure of if he wants to talk to me or is trying to cause an accident in the middle of the street. I get past him and get into the U-turn lane, and he comes up right to the side of me and starts screaming things while I'm trying to turn left. Eventually he takes off, I guess he saw the cop eyeing him to my right. I guess he's more afraid of a cop than a psychopath in an Escort who wont take his ****.
Funny thing is I told my rider buddy, and of course he thought the rider was in the right. Moron. I forgot that motorcycle riders didnt have to obey laws and were allowed to scream at people and stop in the middle of the street when they're mad at someone.

You allowed to drive while talking on a mobile phone in the states? You get busted over here for it ;o.
These stories are the reasons I carry a Ruger P90 in my car at all times.

to add something else..
i respect motorcycle drivers because they (99.9% of the time) drive faster than the traffic, and always move a bit to the side to let them pass, and 99% of the time they wave thanks to me..
i'm very considerate on the streets, and people show me the same respect that i show them.
oh and if i did cut someone off i wave my hand as a sign of apology..
not because i'm scared, but because there is right and wrong, and i try to stick to the rights.
