View Full Version : how hi bf is optimal for muscle building w/o getting too fat?

I changed my diet to a more strict diet than last year (altho last year i made pretty good gains) and i'm eating like every 3-4 hours now that it's summer and i have nothing to do. i've gained some weight, but my bf went up too. my pack is disappearing, and it's summer in CA! i have a caliper, and i was wondering how low of a bf% is good enough to make good gains.

I don't think doc understands the question. But perhaps I do....
I don't think there is any "magic" percentage of bodyfat. Granted you don't wanna get to fat bro but you also don't want to get too lean as less than 8% (IMO). If you're puttin on some weight...big deal. Suck it up. You'll be able to get ripped in time for school in the fall. ;)
