found these nacho's at the local 7-11 store.. they seemed not bad, high in unsaturated fats.. heres teh nutrition info for em..

80g nacho cheese
cal: 151
pro: 8g
carb: 4g
fat: 12g (1.04g from sat)

80g salsa dip
cal: 104
pro: 0.8g
fat: 0.08g
carbs: 4.8g

corn chips (80g)
cal: 541
pro: 5.2g
carb: 45.6g
fat: 18.8g (.3g from sat)

TOTAL

does the fat amount for the corn chips seem a lil off to anybody else?

Sounds like a lot of "empty" calories to me. The fat amount doesn't surprise me. The "nutrritional" value of foods like this are very low.

I dont think trans-fats show up as saturated, but they are the worst kind. Maybe it is high in those.

Trans fatty acids show as poly I believe.

Besides, that stuff is also full of acrilamide, which is believed to cause cancer.

Anything that comes ready to eat and can sit on a shelf for months and months without rotting is poison.

Sounds about right. I'm curious as to where cheese gets carbs but I'm sure it's something like sugar added to the cheese sauce.

hmm, how do you get 104 calories out of that? Salsa is almost all carbs so that makes sense but the numbers here would be closer to 25 calories than to 104 calories. 25 calories sounds more accurate to me. Also I'm surprised that there is an equal amount of salsa as cheese dip.

Again, I question that you eat 80g of chips, 80g of salsa and 80g of cheese sauce. Sounds like they are using convenient numbers there. Also this seems like the c/p/f math would be closer to 400 calories than to 540 (200/20/180).

Overall the numbers seem a bit skewed and the fat content of the chips would be dependent upon what they are fried in. Probably use canola or safflour.

Make sure you bring your scale so you get that 80g of chips, 80g of salsa and 80g of cheese. 800 calories for an appetizer.

*** i used the energy kj converter, 4.16kj = 1 cal

*** it comes in the package, the nutrition info at the back actually gives you the info in 100g chunks, so i worked it out with the calculator, and for the calories, i used the energy kj converter, 4.16kj = 1 cal

add to that the fact that trans fatty acids are unsaturated

Why would salsa be almost all carbs? It's diced up veggies and pleanty of sodium to make them flavorful. Granted whatever 7-11 serves is probably chalk full of preservatives and the such, but my first intuition would say there arn't many carbs.
