creatine is produced in the liver in us rite,
would eating liver give us additional creatine in our systems?

just a thought?

Not enough that I would actually EAT it!

Yeah, eating chicken breasts gives you big pecs, and eating chicken legs gives you big thighs, etc

As far as I am aware creatine is highest in red meats such as beef...

LOL @ Cack...damn, I thought all those chicken breasts would give me back my boobs :D

Isn't liver high in cholesterol as well? I sometimes crave it in the winter, but that's probably because I'm lacking iron or vitamin D or I'm having a moment of insanity...

The fact that the liver is the filter on the waste system of the body skeeves me out anyways...

actually y'all.....

there is a school of thought that believes eating organ meats will support your own organs. IE: eating animal thryoids to give you their thyroid hormones....the cleaner version being Armour Thryoid, which is now a drug, but is essentially ground up pig thryoids.

They also do it with thymus, pituitaries, and testicles, if i'm not mistaken. I mean..back in the days when we were hunter gatherers, we ate all parts of the animal, and in some cultures, they believed if you had problems with your eyes, then you got to eat an eye of the animal...or whatever....last place i saw that thought process was in a documentary of the Yali people of South America.

I don't know how that exactly works with cooked organ meats...but I can see it happening with raw organ meat.

we're going into the territory of Chines Medicine with donkey dick though...except it's tiger penis instead....;)

i agree here. I cant speak to the organs themselves, but apparently there have been cases of arthritis treated by consumption of ground up chicken joints.
WHy does it work? The cartilage of the joint contains glucosamine-chondroiton sulphates, the same stuff people pay good money for at the supp store and has been clinicly proven to help arthritis.

Hahaha...Bammer is such a perverted freak but it's so funny...

too much creatine in the body will just be excreted by the kidneys as creatinine. so there is no real point in takin excess amounts.

07-05-2001, 11:20 AM
True dat.

07-05-2001, 11:29 AM
Belial, I'm not sure if there's different versions of "sweetbreads" but the the one I ran into was definitely NOT brains...(I had to respectfully decline that entree BTW)

Bam, you might be getting your laydreams...errr, daydreams confused w/reality ;)

Oooh, here's something delicious. For those of you who read my posts on the cottage cheese conversation, and know about my crazy Russian grandma, here's another recipe from her large collection. Although I don't think you'll actually want this one.
Last week, she made...*drumroll please*...liver pie! 6 stacked round layers of brown, gooky liver with egg whites and vegetables in between! YUUUM...
A little cilantro on top, and we're good to go.

I think I'd have to try that, just to convince myself I was really hard-core.

Well, my rottweiler loved it.
