I like to munch on sunflower seeds and peanuts. Is there any benefit from eating those as far as gaining mass?
Which would be best?

quick, easy, tasty calories...good fat. Search the diet forum for nuts and I'm sure you will find more. BTW, peanuts are not nuts, they are legumes (you'll still find much peanut info under nuts I'm sure though :D ).

Nuts are a good source of healthy fats in the diet and if you need to get in extra cals throughout the day nuts are a good calorie dense food. Walnuts are an excellent source of EFA's but most all nuts are high in healthy fats.
