View Full Version : Dextrose Vs. Maltodextrin

I have been using dextrose and whey for a while pre and post W/O. I bought some premixed creatine and it contain Maltodextrin in it. Which is better for you, and which one acts more a a delivery to your muscles post W/O. Ia m still going to continue to take dextrose and whey pre workout.

The creatine only contain 35g per serving so I think that I am going to add another 30g of dextrose and some whey on top of this. Opinions?

Their effects will be pretty much the same.

Only significant difference IMO is that dextrose is much sweeter.

...and about 1/2 the price of malto.

malto doesn't seem to dissolve as well in water (prolly cuz its a long polymer)... and it tastes nasty too

Isn't dextrose slightly higher GI than malto?

even though its slightly higher. you alter the GI when you mix it with water anyway.

plus as most people have it after trianing, your level of dehydration will effect the GI as well.
