Just wondering how many people go that extra step in food preperation and weigh all portions. I am not currently doing this but am seriously thinking of tightening up the calorie counting (I mean protine, carbs, fat....) and purchaling a food scale. I have always felt that without one a lot of things are a guess in the dark!

I also use a scale. Likes you said it will take the guesswork out of your diet. I especially like it when weighing out meat or pasta.

I pretty accurate at guessing weights, so do not need a scale, though have access to a scales.
have used scales at work, so after a while you get used to portion sizes so do not need scale.

remeber food has natural variation anyway.

I used to have one... till my drunk friends got ahold of it and tried weighing things you don't normally weigh.

Gotta but a new, sturdier, scale.

Wow. I did not think that many people actually used a scale. I guess I am the slacker of the bunch...

I use it for everything...I don't eat anything unless I weight it out first, especially my starchy carbs. I don't weigh veggies because I do not count them in my caloric intake

I usually buy the chicken/meat/whatever and defrost it. Then I divide it up and cut it into whatever portions I need for my diet and stick it into little bags. Helps keep me sane.
