When ya'll are trying to stick to a diet and are going out to eat... what are some of your favorite foods?

Breakfast: oatmeal, maybe w/some peanut butter OR Egg Beaters/other egg substitute

Lunch: turkey or tuna sandwich if I'm eating bread, salad w/vinegar and oil if I'm not

Dinner: broiled fish, broiled chicken, more salad and/or veggies.

Usually if you ask, a decent restaurant will prepare foods with whatever reasonable modifications you suggest. e.g., fish broiled with little or no butter/oil, salad w/o croutons or whatever else you don't want, Chicken Parmesan unbreaded, broiled instead of deep fried, no cheese...etc.

And you can ask for substitutes: steamed veggies instead of baked potato, soup instead of french fries, "sandwiches" w/o the bread, etc.

Every time (and it admittedly hasn't been many) that I've gone out for sushi, I've had to go home and eat another meal...it seems like a tiny amount of food that costs a lot of $$$.

I dunno Ice..maybe it's a location thing...down here there are tons of sushi places, and a lot of them have these huge platters and buffets and all kinds of stuff.

maybe it's the lack of fat?

yates..are you trying to get that boy fat? not very nice....Indian actually is a pretty good option, but you have to take care what you choose.

Just order the fish. Salad w/vinegar for appetizer, have some bread, and enjoy your meal.

If you're dieting and this is a one off dine out then don't worry about it so much - it's not like you're cheating every day...

No silly.

I love souvlaki, I usually order it in and get two orders with double the roast potatoes and pita bread.

Oh...It's my treat for when I go see my chiropractor on lunch hour....i found this little Falafel Joint down here, and I go there for lunch when i'm in the area (chiro). Actually yesterday when i went the owner introduced me to his son, so maybe i go a little too often.....hmmmm.......
