Best Tasting Protein Powder?

I know this is mostly based on opinion, but what do you think is the brand with the best taste(whey). I know it will never taste like candy, but ive had some pretty nasty ones myself and have yet to find one that is right. Also, are the protein powders with no carbs the best to take? does it really matter?

Nlarge pretty much tastes like candy. Could be all the sugar :)

max muscles protein ... their banana flavor always gets rave reviews but i like the strawberry ... but seriously, this is the only brand that i can continually drink day after day and not get nauseous

This depends on your goals. Most all 100% whey powders will have a few grams of carbs and then you have powders like N'large which are loaded with carbs but products like this are considered weight gainers. I recommend simple carbs post-workout but you can either buy something like N'large2 or buy a whey protien and add in dextrose or some other simple sugar. Optimum 100% whey chocolate tastes good and I also use GNC's whey but taste is not that important to me personally.

Optimum 100% whey is a great deal probally one of the best. BUT!!!! It does not taste great. I drink the stuff every day. Isopure Perfect Zero carb strawberry taste good but it expensive.

Irontek Vanilla Cake tastes pretty good, and its pretty cheap - 28 bucks for 5.5 lbs at a store here.

They all taste like sugary crap to me. I don't drink milk so that might be part of the problem.

I use mainly optimum whey chocolate and simply whey chocolate.

I prefer the taste of simply whey over the optimum.

NLarge does taste the best, but if you talking about pure whey then my vote goes to Optinum Nutrition 100% Natural Whey -Chocolate flavor.

I prefer the taste of Simply Whey chocolate to Optimum Whey chocolate. Optimum's just taste so bitter to me. But I do hear good things about Next Proteins which I will try out next month.

Muscle Builder by Weider, by far the greatest tasting protein powder I have ever tried. I have yet to try MuscleMilk tho, it's suppost to be the best, but i'll try it after im doen cutting there is just a lil to much fat in it.

Ive used "Power Whey Stack" (Swiss Chocolate) by Lucent Labs and it tastes like complete ****. Will definately be looking for something different when this is gone.

I can drink it for 2-3 days and then it starts making me sick. I wish I could remember the name of the stuff my friend used to take. It tasted like nestle quick.

There are big differences when referring to tastes depending if you are talking about 100% whey, MRP's, or weight gainers. Obviously the weight gainers are going to taste the best when compared to 100% whey.

I would say that Myoplex Vanilla Cream tastes like ass, but I have never tasted ass, and I would hate to unfairly criticize it. Truthfully, it tastes like wet paper soaked in artificial sweetners. The Vanillia Cream that is.

I recommend you all go out and buy a bottle of Champion Nutrition Heavy Weight Gainer 900. The stuff is to die for.
I used to work at a bar and seriously used to sell glasses of the stuff to customers (I'd go to work right from the gym and drink my shakes there and everyone always wanted it)
it tastes amazing.
So good in fact that I even used it as the base to make brownies with a few times:)

and when I buy a protein power or supplement the last thing on my mind is how it tastes.
Why bother with the bs sweetners, the added carbs and fats for flavor and consistency?
if your hardcore then take something hardcore and don't puzzy foot around

proteinfactory.com is no frills ballz to the wallz and the last place I'll shop for PW powders. (AM/PM being slightly less significant I'll save some $$ and stick with a more affordable brand such as Optimum 100%)

i think the final tally has optimum the winner. Ive been using it for years. i use one scoop for 8 ounces of water and it taste like cheap chocolate milk. If you mix a scoop with milk use 10 ounces. its probably be best if you double that, so take 16 ounces of water with 2 scoops. The factor that i like the most is that you can just shake it and it all dissolves. the chunks i get from other protein make me gag and then i puke up all the protein i just drank.

ALso, i recommend washing out the shaker right after you drink it. otherwise, it would smell like a dead zebra carcas rotting in the sun.

Tyler, optimum is probably the highest selling protein powder because of its ultra affordable price, wheras other powders like Weiders Peptides, HW Gainer 900 by champion nutrition, products by other small vendors get passed over.

If you truly want to see who the winner is you need to poll everyone to rank all the stuff they have tried.
Some of these guys have only tried optimum, and sure it tastes good...but thats an invalid answer to this question

nitrotech vanilla flavor doesnt taste that bad.. i heard the chocolate was also supposed to be good... advanced whey protein- whey tek strawberry flavor.. tastes like crap..
