Are granola bars a suitable complex carb. source?

They can be. The ones i have are basically oats and nuts...perfect. But watch out. Some are loaded with corn syrup, fruit preserves, sugar, etc.

Haha...as I was reading your post I was reaching into my desk drawer for the box of Nature Valley I keep there. :D

I figure they keep for a long time and are good emergency snacks if nothing else is around. Gotta do what you can to avoid vending machine food at work.

Well if the honey is added INTO the bar (which I assume it is) then you don't really need to worry about it. Just look at the grams of sugar per bar and make sure you're comfortable with the amount. ;)
