sugars=carbs so a simple sugar is a simple carb.

Do you mean the difference between simple carbs and complex carbs?

Carbohydrates are complex chains of simple sugars.

But be careful. Just because something is complex doesn't make it favourable.

eg. white bread is a complex carbohydrate but is rapidly broken down into simple sugars.

also, lactose (in milk) is a simple sugar but is not digested very rapidly.

Try:

oatmeal 30 min before working out

Weight gainer shake with dextros, maltodextrin, and/or fructose added to it. These are all VERY simple sugars that have a high Glycimic Index meaning they enter the blood stream very rapidly. Go to a site like DPSnutrition.com and look for Prolab's N-large 2 weight gainer shake and check out the nutrition profile. It's like 84g carbs and 46g protein with 550 calories... a perfect combo.

if you already have the whey powder then just purchase some dextrose, which is very inexpensive, or some smarties candy which is made of dextrose and maltodextrin
