I don't need to worry about these, I get so many of them a day.

I eat a tonn of pasta. Wheat stuff. Noodles, bread and cereal stuff.

I eat fruit too.

Just wondering how many a day is needed, and from what foods are best?

I would just make sure to get in my protien requirements (approx 1g/lb of bw) and 25-30% of my cals from fat and then let carbs make up the rest of your daily calories. There is not a magic number and different people will have different results. Some prefer higher carbs while others prefer lower carb. I think the best carbs are low GI carbs like oats, sweet potatoes, veggies, beans, brown rice, etc.
