Yep , it's time for a new journal. That other one was a lost cause......

Anhow, I'm exactly 12 weeks out from a show that's April 26th. As much as I want to do the Fitness, it's not going to happen this time around. So my first show will be a bodybuilding show. That's final.

Shoulders

Seated DB press
20's x 15
30's x 12
40's x 10

DB laterals
10's x 15
15's x 10
20's x 6 blah

Bent over DB laterals
10's x 15
15's x 12
25's x 8

testing strength on bi's and tri's

tricep pushdowns
40 x 15
60 x 10
70 x 6

DB bicep curls
15's x 15
25's x 10
35's x 6 - these felt much easier

5 mins cardio....... umm can't seem to get this cardio kick I had going back grrrrrrrrr

Thanks to all my well wishers..... :p

Split my workout up today. I don't see my good friend much anymore so I definitely wanted to train with her today except she couldn't until later today and me being the morning person that I am , I just had to get my squats over and done with this morning ....

Squats!
bar x 15
135 x 10
185 x 6
225 x 12 -- this is strange but i'll take it no doubt!

Bike - 25 mins

good luck sav, although luck wont come into it:) you'll rip em 2 shreds.

The first workout you posted was top notch, doing 35's for 6 on the db curl would put alot of the male members to shame on the board. Same for the 225 for squat! unreal stuff going on there.

keep it up, peace

Savannah
02-06-2003, 07:07 AM
One thing I've realised is that there's no way my body is into cardio late at night after closing up the store, so from now on I'l have to make sure it gets down earlier in the day regardless.

Got up early this morning for 45 mins cardio at this other gym in town I've been checking out. Better atmosphere.

Weights later.

WOW. You are amazingly strong. I feel like a total weenie! (The day I get to those kind of numbers, I think I will throw an "I kick ass party"... it'll probably be in about 2 years. Save the date.)

I'd be really interested to hear about the other aspects of your contest prep (diet, posing, etc) if you have time to post them. BEST of luck with the show - judging from (old) pics in the picture forum, you should do great!

LMAO! Awwwww I could totally use a male training partner....
I just enjoy training with a guy more than another female.
There may be a possibility of my old workout partner from several months ago relocating to the area which could be handy.....

How much cardio are you doing each week?

Savannah
02-06-2003, 11:23 AM
I don't usually go over 45 mins total in a day. So wether it be all at once, or broken up into 2 sessions.
I try for 6 days a week, but lately it's been more like 4-5 :(
that lazy thing again........ ;)

That's alot of cardio. Have you considered shortening it up and doing HIIT cardio on off days. I know that you have a contest but isn't that overdueing it. lol, gino whats your definition of a regular journal? if so id like to see one:)

I post in sav's journal cos shes a nice lass, and works hard at her training. Nice too see that kind of attitude from the opposite sex and not hearing; "will this peice of celery make me fat?" from the majority of the stick insect population.

Keep it up Sav:)

whats bothering you anna? why the hating? is it to do with your pysique/or you as a person? Youve always got help here and if you need to talk, there are plenty of people who can help you out.

Although i think that everyone at times has certain issues that hamper us, coming through them is what makes us stronger.

Yesterday hit a new pr for DB shoulder presses
45's x 7
That made me a bit happier. but I just have felt blah, and I'm thinking that living in a new city without my friends is starting to hit me. So I just drove around town alot yesterday rather than being at home alone. Grrrrr I dislike that.......

And as for the anger at myself, it's just the fact that i never seem to learn my lessons the first time. It usually takes me 2 or 3 times.... anyways, enough.

Sunday - Legs

Squats
bar x 25
135 x 10
185 x 6
225 x 12
(not as strong feeling as last week however)

Hack Squats

2 plates a side x 8
2 & quarter a side x 6--- hmmm seemed harder than I'd have thought
1 plate a side x 15

90 x 8
120 x 5

15 mins bike

45 degree calf raise
1 plate a side x 15
2 plates a side 2 sets x 15

I kind of feel the same way down here Anna. Trust me, when I moved to London, I felt the same way as well, but there are really alot of good people in that town, all you have to do is go meet them! London is a beautiful city, once ya get out and about, you'll really enjoy it!

Better than me, it takes me an average of about a half dozen attempts before I learn sh*t!!! hehe I always get pissy about it, say I won't do it again, then go make the same mistake a few more times ;)

You have some really impressive strength there. I know that you have been told that many times, but I just wanted to reinstate it.

As far as London goes it really not a bad place. I'm kinda getting bored of it now after being here for the last six years, but that beside the point.

When I first came here I felt the same way you do. But I did get over it. College helped quite a bit.

If you ever need any ideas of what to do in this town just PM, usually I found out what fun to do around here working in a bar and all.

Attempted some early morning cardio but I think it was the poorest showing I've made at the gym in a long time. usually if I wake up and i'm not feeling up to par, I go back to bed, but being 111/2 weeks out.... no way. So atleast I got myself in and did something.

I had my leg workout later on any ways ....
Not going to update other than getting 2 extra reps on leg press today which was good.
I'm definitely noticing my legs changing in shape since sticking to the heavier leg sessions which I like.

Well,
I figure I'm either one of the biggest moron's on earth, or I'm just really set on getting my ass in gear for the upcoming show.
I'd love to go with the latter.

I was given the oportunity to go on an all-inclusive vacation through work. My accepting depended alot on the timing so when I heard it was april5th-12th I was all set, even though I knew I'd have to be completely anal about my training and diet.
Then came the catch. What had started at being 4 tickets, then became 3 so it was either going to come down to doing a draw of names, or each of us chipping in $500. I definitely couldn't justify forking out the $$$ when there's other trips I am expected to be making so I just got bitter and said "forget about me then"... I guess I just figured that everyone who is going to go may as well partake in all the free booze and good food. And to be honest, it likely would have been extremely tempting to cheat on the diet etc.
So........ yeah......

This morning was 25 mins cardio and back.
More cardio after work later today.

Yep, the latter it is. You most likely made the right decision. There is no way I could train and eat properly while on any type of vacation....business or otherwise.

Shankerr

I would choose the latter portion as well. However, this one comment has confirmed the belief that you in fact, are one of the biggest gym geeks in Canada...... hehe I am also on the list, so don't be to offended :D

I don't blame ya really.. I mean if you've been training hard, no point in going away when one fo two things could happen... One, you stick to your training and diet, and have no fun, in which case it was a waste.. Or two, you go, and totally blow it due to poor facilities down there or whatever.. *cough*free alcohol*cough* hehe, anyway, good choice, I woulda done the same!

This little adventure from last night's gym outing could not go untold.......

I was doing a chest workout and started off downstairs where all the free weights are and the room is generally filled with males. Not many females ever train in there and so to start with I stand out. Not to mention I lift more than most the young lads down there too.... :p

Anyways, I did a few exercises and then headed upstairs to use a machine. I plop my butt down on the seat and feel something cold.... I think to myself , "Hmm must have sat in some water". But when I stood up I saw no water on the seat .... uh-oh.
I turned to look in the mirror and what do I see? My big ass cheek staring back at me!
I guess the material was weak in an area and just decided to tear.
Oh the horror. Was probably the single most embarrasing moment of my life to date.
Luckily I had two people beside me that I knew so I asked the guy to bend over to pick up my teeny tiny towel so I could make a graceful exit.
What made the event realy comical was 2 mins after I realised this, a man came on to the speaker reminding everyone about proper gym dress code while upstairs (no cut off shirts etc....)
Had to just be a coincidence but the couple beside just had to chip in about no ass cheeks showing either....
Needless to say my workout ended there.

if it makes you feel better, over the summer this one girl at my gym always trotted around like she was the s***. she had a decent body, but a butter face... anyways, she was doing cable crossovers and some how her sports bra ripped and she was exposed and everyone laughed. I didnt see her sports bra rip, but i did catch her running to the locker room with her hands over her chest. quite funny...

I can't say I'm much in the mood for going but it's paid for already and I may as well just grin and bear it.

Sorry it didnt make you feel all that better...
Is it paid for by a sponsorship or are you going to represent a company you work for?? And that sucks that you are going to hide from people there:rolleyes:

Luckily I had two people beside me that I knew so I asked the guy to bend over to pick up my teeny tiny towel so I could make a graceful exit.

Ahhh a classic:D

I've had my share of embarrassing moments too that I'd rather forget but I figure if Im gonna look back and laugh one day then I may as well laugh now :D.

Cheer up Anna.... *sends some positive cyber cheer to Sav* :) :) :) :) :)

LOL!

I know who she's avoiding.

It's me. And my sex appeal, that stretches from here to there.

Why didn't you tell me you were going to the Arnold Classic? :( I went a couple of years back and it was ok - too crowded at the expo. Hope to hear something about it, ok ;)

It was pretty cool to meet all of those people. Tom Prince is the coolest out of all of them. Did you know that Muscle Mayhem is also his site? He doesnt have his name on there for contest reasons. I will post some pics. Too bad my camera ran out at the finals:mad: I talked to Jay and Ruhl for a very long time also at the dinner. Nasser is something else... Check out some of the pics too at Muscle Mayhem. Sorry you didn't have too good of a time, I spent way too much money also.
