Tonight:
2 set of 30 twist
2 sets 15 lifts
Tomorrow
2 sets of 40 cruches
repeat.
I have never been given a real ab plan, what exactly is yours the I may copy.

And worry more about the rest of your excercises, not only abs, the whole routine has to be solid

Sorry rodent, i was being a bit pissy when i replied. You are probably working your abs out way way way too much. They are a muscle just like all your other muscles so best bet is to let them recover between workouts.
You will probably have very good endurance doing those high rep sets, but your size will be restricted. Maybe try some weighted crunches instead and cut down on reps.

Don't mean to highjack his thread...
*well, it might actually be doing everyone a favor*
Anyway....What's your opinion on this:
I don't work abs, because I find that I lift heavy enough that my abs get affected anyway. For example, triceps pressdowns on a cable machine. It seems my abs get involved in trying to hold myself in position, because I'm pressing down more than my bodyweight.
I've never worked abs, and mine seem pretty reasonably developed, from 'indirect' training.
Anyone else sort of in this line of thought, or am I an idiot that should be working my abs? :p

I did:
2/50 twist
1/30 and 1/50 crunches
2 1 min bycycles
I don't feel it.
I want to know what is the correct way to crunch? How do you do weighted abs? Were do the weights go? My form when I have tried has been bad. How much weight, 25?

Can you do cable crunches?
Those work well.
And Monolith, you are right, particularly if you are doing heavy deads and squats, which both heavily stress the abdominals.

I train abs like any other muscle. Once a week with heavy weight. I think you're doing too much. You need to have more patience.

add 2 more sets to each exercise, and keep the rest times down to 30 secs

How do in good form do weight crunches?

I use the weighted cybex ab machine at my gym. 2 sets of 6-10 reps. I might do some hanging leg raises if I'm feeling happy. Once a week and that's it. I don't claim to have great abs but its what works for me.

Homeyielf, I have tried that machine. How do you know your doing it correctly, where should the pad be placed? I never felt it. Where do you squeeze?

Umm, what's going on with the mods? I do believe this is this guys 3rd thread about abs. The other 2 I responded to and shortly after I noticed that the threads were removed.
This was yesterday, and Maki was the only moderator present in the section when they dissappeared, just wondering why the keep getting removed?
