Hi everyone! I have a question that I'm sure is gonna have you guys rolling your eyes :) When do you think would be the best time to integrate whey protein into your diet (what time of day, i mean)? I was thinking that i could just put it in a water bottle along with my creatine. I take 5g of creatine an hour and a half before i work out, and another 5g right when I'm done. That would simplify things greatly... unless you think by getting the protein hits (heh!) so close together, some of the effectiveness would be reduced. Thanks for any input, people- and I'm sorry to drag out such a overdone subject :)

Personally, I would only take 5g creatine post-workout, along with some whey. I think post-workout is the optimal time to get a shake in, but I usually have 3 or 4 shakes throughout the day.

Actually, some recent research suggested pre workout is a lot more effective in boosting protein synthesis that post. I do both, to be on the safe side.

I use whey postworkout along with some simple carbs and I also add my creatine in the shake as well (5g). You can take whey prior to working out if you like but I just eat a regular whole food meal about an 1.5-2 hours before training.

When I work out first in the morning I will wake up and have some whey with carbs before training and then another shake postworkout.

I would just make sure to ingest some type of protein in the hours before training.

Oh yeah, I definately have to eat at least one real food meal before a workout, or else I'll have a really really crappy day in the gym :P Protein powder is pretty cheap and so is creatine, so hitting it before and after won't break the bank or anything :P

If taking whey first thing in the morning I would take it with some carbs.
