I just rented the first fiew episodes this weekend. The show takes place during WWII, the Allies invasion of Normandy. It's about paratroopers (easy company), that were dropped over Normandy and fought their way to Berlin.
I am simply hooked on it, if anyone is into WWII this is the show to watch. You can rent it at Rogers, every box has 2 cds in it, with 4 episodes, each one 1 hour long.

Itīs definitly a good TV-serie, maybe one of the best nowadays.

I havenīt followed a TV-serie so 'die hard' since The X-files started a long time ago...Maybe itīs worth buying the DVD-box and be able to watch it whenever I desire to

Are you talking about Band of Brothers? Doesn't that only come on HBO? Unfortunately I don't have satelite.

Yea, seen them all twice, they were on the BBC about a year ago. Damn good series. (they used more pyrotechnics in the first 3 episodes than in the whole of Saving Private Ryan :))

Exnor is this box set propaganda for the US war effort?

The only thing that suck about that show is that it's not very accurate historically...nevertheless I watched it for the entertainment value.

WHAT!? Its very accurate historically. Steven Ambrosa have interviewed a good deal of Easy Company, and he has done extensive research regarding the invasion. I find it higly accurate historically.

Holland was not freed up by Americans!

Praetorian
02-13-2003, 02:35 PM
o? who freed the dutchs then?

Canadians, and this is coming from the guy that has lived in Holland during that war and experienced it first hand.

The Americans tend to rewrite history to make themselves look like the winners, they did not win WWII.

Yeah, its very americanised. But so is so much stuff produced in america. Its sure as hell entertaining though.

So the Axis powers are the real winners of the war??? I'm kinda lost on this statement.

Excellent series, it originally aired in high defintion. I bought the dvd box set which is very close to hi-def visually. Anyone with a home theater will enjoy this series, and will push your subwoofer...
