View Full Version : Bulking and cutting at the same time with a stimulant?

I've got a buddy that lives rather far away from me now. The last time I was there he had been training for a while and was looking rather cut. Of course, after a bit weight training came up in a conversation and he mentioned how he was taking Extreme Lean (Ephedrin, I believe) to help burn off some excess fat. AFAIK he didn't change his diet.
Is it possible for me to build some muscle and lose fat at the same time? Just how fast can I lost fat without starting to seriously atrophy? Spring break is coming...

Pick one cut or bulk. Some people are blessed with awesome genetics that allows them to not diet and still get lean, but the rest of us need to diet, so just pick one. Or you can eat clean and lift and you should loose some fat that way and put some mass on and a few weeks from spring break take fat burners if you like.

I agree with Steveo in that you should just pick a goal and stick with it. I would shoot to lose approx a pound a week if you decide to cut. You could try eating close to your maintenance cals and see what kind of results you get. What are your stats right now?

Would taking ECA while bulking help?
That would be like cutting while bulking yeah?
BUFF STUFF, I used to think that as well, but it really makes no sense. To lose weight you have to be in a caloric deficit. To gain weight you have to be in a caloric surplus. The only time when you can do both at once is if you are new to the game or on gear.

you could be bulking and still use an ECA to pump you for a workout.

I use an ECA just about every day when I bulk to give me a good sweat at the gym! You're going to need alot more than a few weeks though if you want to do both.. Usually if I am bulking and want to cut off a bit of fat, I'll focus on about two days per week to cut hard, and the rest of the week, I continue to bulk at a normal rate.. The only thing is that doing this, it';ll tkae you a month or more to lost 5lbs.. Bottom line, if ya wanted to lean up and add mass before spring break, you should have thought of it last May.. hehe. for now, focus on cutting hard for a bit, then add mass for summer.
