Alright, I've been using finasteride since I was 19 (23 now) and started to shed some extra hair to combat future hairloss since my uncles are all a bunch of cue balls. It's definitely done the job, I've kept my hair. However, all these years of finasteride have done a number on the body.
Since finasteride prevents the conversion of testosterone into DHT, that extra testosterone either remains free or aromatizes into estrogen. 4 years w/ abnormally high estrogen levels for a guy has definitely had its effects. I still can't grow much facial hair, and I can't seem to get rid of estrogen related fat around the mid section no matter how hard I try. Plus, I'm sure I'm constantly retaining water and feel bloated all the time. Not to mention that my gains in the gym have probably been hampered.
I'm debating taking a low dose of an anti-aromatase like Aromasin every 3rd day or so (maybe 12.5mg) to combat some of this, or at least return my hormone levels to semi-normal status. Any thoughts?
