What is up everyone on here? For quite sometime I have wanted to start a journal on here to inform people what it is I do every minuet of every day year round: Try to get bigger. My current stats are as follows:

Age: 21
Weight: 230 lbs
BF: 9%
Heigth: 6'1''
Years lifting:3.5
Years I've known what the f&c$ i was doing:2.5 (assuming I do now which is no guarentee)
Pitbulls currently owned: 1 (and yes she is cute as hell)
Motorcycles crashed: 2
Times I've crashed when trying to impress a girl (2) (includes cars also)

I weighed 178 pounds about 3 years ago when i decided to start putting on mass, in that time I have gained 52 pounds, WOW, thats a lot now that i think about it, anyway I am constantly reading, researching, schooling, eating, and of course training. I am commonly in the gym for about 2.5-3 hours, 3.5 on legs day. I'm sure I will get bombarded with "you're overtraining" comments, but I will deal with that when it comes.

I will be posting my experiences in the gym on here quite often, my diet techniques, my splits, pics when I get some, and current goals. I consider my self fairly educated in the supplement world so I am sure I can try to answer just about common questains you may have. To catch up on my training

Incline DB: 4 sets, 1 with 85's, 3 with 90's
Low dips: 1 set of 12 no weight, 3 sets of 6 with 40 lb DB
Falt DB press , not worth mentioning due to chest tiredness from low dips! (needless to say light weight high reps, like 75's and 80's)
Fly machine 1 arm warm-up with 225 lbs 8 each arm
DB flys 2 sets with 55's 2 sets with 60's, 8 reps each
Pullovers: set 1: warmup, set 2: 85 lb DB for 12, set 3: 90 lb DB 10 reps, set 4: same, set 5: 100 lb DB for 6 reps

set 4 same weight but 4 each arm
set 5 (drop) 3 45's each side go until it burms real bad, which was 7 reps each arm

lying barbell rows
sets 1-4 185 lbs 6 reps each time ( the weight felt good, and it is a bitch to add any weight on this thing, it wants to fall over)

Hammer pulldown
Set 1: 2 45's each side 12 reps
Set 2: 2 45's and 1 25 each side double armed 6 reps, strip down to 2 45's each side continue 6 1 arm reps each side

Set 4: see set 3

1 armed T bar rows
Set 1: 2 45's 8 reps each arm
Set 2 : 2 45's + 25 6 reps each arm
Set 3: 3 45's 4 each arm

1 arm DB rows
Set 1: 100 lb db 10 each arm (enter B.C. enthusiasm returns!)

I'm curious: have you ever tried slightly-less-than-insane volume training? I mean, seriously tried it, with proper diet and rest?

02-26-2003, 01:36 PM
High volume? Nah, I think you need a few more sets in there. You still have a few more exercises that you haven't done.

LOL, welcome and good luck. How many calories do you take in on a normal day?

Serious volume training is what works, for me. IMO I think it would work for more people, but people don't put in the time. Like I said I have gained 53 lbs in less than 3 years, and in this last year came about 30 of those lbs, and no I'm not just some fatass throwing down any ding dong or twinkie I see to put on weight. I will be posting pics soon, then feel free to say whatever you like. Now for the good stuff:

Lower back:

Deadlifts: conventinal style
Set 1: 315 6 reps
set 2: 335 5 reps
set 3: 365 4 reps
set 4: same
set 5: 405 1 rep
set 6: repeat of set 5 because small guy said i used too much leg on set 5, so i did it again nice -and -slow

Clean and press:

Set 1: 135 for 8
Set 2: 155 for 3
Set 3: 155 for 6
Set 4: 155 for 6

Seated DB shoulder press

Set 1: 70's for 12
Set 2: 75's for 8
Set 3: 75's for 9
Set 4: 75's for 7

Hammer front delt press

Set 1: 2 45's each side for 4
Set 2: same for 9
set 3: same for 7
Set 4: same for 7

Lateral raise drop sets:
For this excercise I burn out from 30lb dumbells down to 15's getting as many as I can for each weight, I perfrom 2 sets of this

Lateral cable raise:
3 sets of 10 with cables on 25 (our cable machine is like from WW2, and really sucks with tons of resistance in the ropes that always break, a much more decent weight is used at home on a much more modern set up!)

Rear delt machine
Set 1: 120 lbs 12 reps
Set 2: 135 lbs 10 reps
Set 3: 135 lbs 8 reps,
Drop set after set 3 to 105 for 8 more reps

I went home because there were nopt really any good looking girls, and I had to cook and eat a bunch still

What I ate:
Beverly mass maker with desighner whey protein
50 grams of protein
49 grams of carbs
2 beverly anti oxident pills

1 8 oz turkey burger
8 oz of fresh salmon
2 bananas

going to eat again probably 2 small meals

BTW my caloric intake for a day is roughly 5000 calories, 330 grams of protein and 200-250 grams of carbs

Later, and thanks for reading if you have

02-26-2003, 09:37 PM

Mr. Bongrips, Have you ever actualy tried to go through your day, everyday achieving 330 grams of protein, without sitting around and sucking down meal replacement shakes all day. The way I achieve taking in so much protein without an overabundance of carbs is that I eat a lot of meat without bread, and so fourth. Eating around 24 oz of cottage cheese, 24 oz of lean ground turkey, 10 oz of slamon, chicken, peanut butter, and on top of that protein shakes with about 300 calories a pop is an easy way to get in lots of protein W/O going crazy on carbs. I eat ZERO junk, the way people are used to eating with lots of bread, pasta, rice, brekfast cereals, potatoes, etc is why many people injest that many carbs. All you need is the disipline to make eating a job with little to no enjoyment...anyway my meals last night

12 oz of cottage cheese
12 oz of lean ground turkey
2 whole wheat LOW CARB buns
5 tbls. of natural peanut butter
1 banana

midnight wake up meal
12 oz lean turkey
1 whole wheat LOW CARB bun
12 oz of cottage cheese

lucky i woke up being i took 20 mg of valium, 12 mg of melatononin, and 3200 mg of valerian root....LOST in my techno dream world:angel:

And yes, you are right SWOLE, I was thinking the same thing, should have gone up on the shoulder presses, and i think i could have but my mood was somewhere in the troff at Wrigley Field...NO B.C. I mean com'mon! deadlifting takes a lot out of me for shoulders, I think it will be getting moved to saturday with triceps.

02-27-2003, 08:27 AM
Man, who would want to live with you?? You probably take up all of the refridgerator space!!! I think we should have a fast food vs. clean diet contest... who gets bigger!!!!! the right way.

02-27-2003, 02:53 PM
I'll take ya both on! I'll do a mix of both.

whats up everyone?
I wanted to update my journal for the time I have missed on here:

Thursday: Biceps and forearms

Standing barbell curl:

Seated alternating DB curls
55x6 drop:40x8 hammer style
55x6 drop:40x8 hammer style
I also do 15 BW dips inbetween each set

standing modified hammer curl with elbows on very top angle of pad for peak contraction and full stretches (much harder than just seated)

Hammer style DB curl on back of incline bench with a steep angle:
Superset inbetween sets with hercucles 1 arm cable curls from the bottom
you all know the drill with our cable machine, i commonly use 55-75 lbs each arm at home on a newer cable machine. F$ck this cable machine!

concentratin curls

standing reverse barbell hand curls:

hammer curl: seated regular way
2 45'sx10
2 45's +25x6

superset with reverse bar cable curls
on a normal cable use between 110-130 lbs
Drenches with sweat, and ready to go home like 30 mins ago!

No ECA's today for sleep reasons, not nearly as good a session as I wanted
I will post my routine a little later tonight...probably

IF you have read this tell me what you all think!

natural PB and sugar free jelly sandwhich
35 gram protein shake (only because i am low on powder, usually much more fattening shake in the morning)
1 chicken breast

pre workout:
16 oz turkey
1 avacodo

post workout
shake, massmaker + desighner whey
16 oz tuna

late meal: 8 oz turkey
12 oz cottage cheese

Justin Armor
03-02-2003, 07:44 PM

hammer leg press (which i am not very fond of):
feet together and placed at the bottom of the platform for quad isolation, all plates are placed on the bottom hangers for less momentum and more effort:

hack squat, feet all the way apart and at the top of the platform for hamstring emphasis:

stiff leg deads

lying hamstring extensions:

standing calf

seated calf
full extension, no bouncing and a 1 second pause at the top on each rep for maximoum calvage!

This was the worst leg workout I think i have possibly ever had, i usually go home to work legs where the equipment is much better, i was also sufferign from a lack of sleep. It will be better next week i promise, sorry for the disapointment.

THE ARNOLD!!! Was awesome, went with SWOLE, and another freind. Met Lee preist, got his new video "another blond myth", got it signed. MAny good pics to post soon hopefully with: Dorian, Tom Prince, Lee, Lee's Buff and Hott wife Cathy, Jay Cuttler, etc..
Awesome time FO SHO!

I have begun taking desicated liver tablets which increase iron, and stregth. I felt really good lifting triceps today. I am trying to lift heavy and fast(less than 1 min between sets). I got a great pump, and finished in about 30 mins, then did cardio. I will be implementing this strategy this week and will post effectiveness. I had to pump tons of vitamin C, 2 grams B4 bed last night, then another gram every 4 hours, plus extra antioxidents to prevent sickness due to the long 24 hr day at the arnold. I am happy to say I am not sick! I have quit taking any ephedra products since friday for lack of sleep reasons. I have been sleeping better, and am now looking for an energy sorce W/O ephedra pre workout. maybe Beverly's energy reserve? If you decide on desicated liver take 3 pills 45 min prior to lifting for increased strength, it does reduce greatly the absorbtion of vitamin E i am told though, so if you can take vitamin E seperate from those. You an also take the desicated liver with meals to increase the vitamin in your body that way.

03-02-2003, 08:41 PM
Well I'm disappointed to say the least! You call that a leg day! ;)

Actually nice strength there on both arm and leg day. It sounds like the Arnold was fun. I sure it will energize you for this next week's workouts. BTW, 52lb in 3 years - WOW.

Compared to most leg workouts this, to me was a disapointment. I am still having great results with the desicated liver, and my life is better ephedra free (for now at least). Now if i can figure out this MP3 player i will be in business! I am SO motivated after seeing all the pros, i can't wait to watch Lee's video and I will let you all know how it is. It is Lee preist though so it will be great!

My desire= hard, heavy, and without hesitation ( i had to keep the h theme). I had a great chest workout, i am to tired to type all the details, but by now you all know how armor works. I can report 3 nice sets of 70 lb flys with 8 reps each. Some GREAT pumps tonight FOR SURE! Chest was SWOLE.

Chest, traps, and abs(quick, simple, and ripped sort of)
I ate a ton of fish today also for those who care. I am OUT of protein, beverly better get thier Sh$t strait and get my stuff here before I shrivle. I SWEAR i will be posting pics on here ASAP, of my body, and my freinds and I with the massive pros.

Todays weight, 234 lbs. freakville here i come

reply to this or i will kill myself:help:
