I've never had natural peanut butter before so I thought Id pick some up but cannot find it! The big grocery chain here in town is sold out of the Smuckers brand, and they say thats all they normally carry. I haven't seen it there in the 4 weeks that Ive been looking.

Can't find it anywhere else either. I really want to try this stuff lol.

Try a natural foods store or a health food store...they will probably have it :)

If you have a food processor you can make it pretty easily. I think spanish peanuts work the best because they contain the most oil. If you can't find those just get some peanut oil to add.

I work part-time at a grocery store and we don't carry any, either. I keep bugging my store manager to buy it, but he says nobody would buy it ..

Most people wouldn't buy it. Like I said I didn't like it at first. Now I do.

Sounds like its going to be interesting lol.

I just want to open myself up to more options. I like regular peanut butter, but it contains a **** load of fat. What are the stats on Natty?

Natty peanut butter has the same amount of fat as regular pb. The Smucker's brand that I have has 200 cals and 16g of fat per 2 tablespoons, which is about exactly the same as say Jif. Although the main point in getting natty pb is that it doesn't contain trans-fats. Most GNC's carry natty pb and other products like cashew butter.

Well your still going to have high fat levels in natural pb, the big difference is that there probably will be 'no added sugar' which the regular brands are crammed with.

oh yeah and unhealthy fats will be excluded, like bradly said:)

Actually peter pan reduced fat has 11g an 8g, smuckers has 16 and 7 of fat and protein. Its also only 60% pb, whats the rest?

Maybe they drain off the separated oil?

Yeah, I bought some of that, but it's basically the original Peanut Butter with a crappy taste and more carbs.

I am looking at a jar of reduced fat Jif. It has peanuts, corn syrup solids, sugar and soy protein listed as the ingredients. Also has 2 percent or less of fully hydrogenated vegetable oils. SO the sugar and corn syrup solids are probably making up the bulk of the remaining 40%.

I've had the jar for a few years, its for mouse traps. I am not worried if they get to much preservitives.

I've been using the Peter Pan reduced sodium. It also has less sugar, and seems to be everywhere I shop.

Well apparently my grocery store will be getting in some today. I guess we will see.

As for walmart, mine doesn't carry it. Weird too, because this is a brand new (less than 6 month old) super walmart.

I don't the age of the walmart is going to have anything to do with if they carry natty pb. Its really gonna depend on the area. Lot of health concious type people. IMO. I never even heard about until I came to this site.
I do like the superwalmarts and Big K all your shopping one place. Except there no good for loacal stores.

You're probably just used to the taste of the processed PB which has a lot of sugar and other things added. Natty PB is just ground peanuts and tastes like it.

Same thing with processed store bacon versus bacon right off the pig...you'd never know that they're allegedly the same thing. All that processing and added stuff really changes the flavor.
