View Full Version : High GI/Low Fiber/High Protien/Low Fat Food?

I was reading the tips on supplementation/eating on Bodybuilding.com and it suggested 30 minutes after your workout to get a food low in fiber, high in protien, low in fat and high in glycemic carbs. Can someone give me some examples of foods that meet that description? Also, by chance does anyone have that list of foods reccomended for bodybuilding, broken down by Protiens, Carbs, fats, etc?

Dextrose and whey is a good post workout shake. Depends on you goals but I would say 75-100g dextrose and about 50 grams protein.

After wokouts, I always have pork & beans. Low in fat, high in protein, and full of complex carbs.
I also like French bread. But you should shop around first and see what suits you.

You need simple carbs post workout, along with some quick digesting protein. You should go with dextrose and some whey and you'll be set.

high GI carbs:
I listed a few examples of high GI carbs that could be used but as stated previously dextrose or maltodextrin would be the best along with some whey. There are many low fat sources of protein that you could use but egg whites was the first to come to mind, or maybe some skim milk.
