For my post-workout meal i take about 30grams of whey in water, and about an hour later i have a proper meal with about 70-80 grams of protein and 100 grams of carbs...
I know i should include carbs in my post-workout shake, but i cant get dextrose or maltodextrin where i live...so i was thinking is it ok if i have gatorade/lucozade with the whey, or is that too much sucrose?
any other suggestions for a carb source?
thnx
Gatorade would be okay, but you would need a lot of it to get the 50 - 100 grams of carbs you should be getting.
Why not just order malt/dext somewhere online? Plenty of places sell it...Also, have you checked shops that sell stuff for home brewing or restaurant supply? They would have malt/dextrose.

You can also check at your local supermarket and see if they have powdered gatorage which would be less expensive than buying a bottled gatorade everyday. You could also eat something like white rice or white bread if you wanted, which is a high GI carb.

i use the powdered gatorade, whey, and throw in some honey is well for extra carbs. i think gatorade is better than the maltodextrin....here come the arguements....:)
