This has always confused me, but is it mid thigh, above the knee, upper thigh?

I take my measurements in this fashion...
1) Put on the biggest, bulkiest snowpants you can find.
2) Find a tape that is incrimented in Centimeters
3) Measure at mid thigh, over top fo the snowpants
4) Record the measurement that you took using CM's, but record the same number as inches instead

Follow the above, and you'll be the first guy on your block to report having 60" wheels!

Only one pair of snowpants? I usually put on 3 and post the measurement in the paper.:p
But seriously(if that term can be used to apply to anyone here:D ) anybody know?

haha, well part "3" of my little jackassfoolery was serious, I think that mid thigh is the best spot to measure, just above halfway between knee and hip

i was told to stand straight up with my arms beside me and mark where my wrist is and then measure across that point perpendicular to the femur

i have seen measurements taken at the top, below the glutes

I say measure at whatever point is of greatest girth
I don't think it's a big deal other than that you should measure at the same place in the same manner each time so you can guage progress (or lack thereof)

The standard is to measure at the largest part of the thigh, usually at the point where the buttocks meet the thighs(just below, so as to not have the glutes increase the measurement).
