Bite your tongues! Heathens!
Two of the greatest artists of our time, responsible for a great cover of a great song . *sigh* I am complete...
Hearing Cash doing this is actually really sad. Not because it's Cash covering Reznor, but because the song is actually quite fitting considering he's pbly only got a few more years of life in him.

I disagree completely.
I think Cash added a needed element of honest pain to the song, that you don't hear when it's just sorta whined about in the NIN version.

Oh I love it....I meant freaky in a good way.
Cash has always been one of my favorites-- and hearing him sing Trent Reznor's tripped-out lyrics is majorly sweet.

Just heard the song, I liked it. His voice sounded cool. Never heard the orginal. Got to wonder how this came about though. Picturing Johnny pop and pills and jamming to NIN?????

I'm sure its been out since christmas, I bought the cd for my father then. He's a big fan. I noticed the song when I was upstairs a few months ago. It freaked me out.

If you don't like NIN you never will. Don't listen to them ever again.

I think the cover is ace. Totally different than the NIN version of course, but still ace.
'course, Johnny Cash could sing "Row, Row Your Boat" and make it sound like a deeply moving and sorrowful ballad. He is teh man.

Cash is awesome and he did a great job on that. It's good to have some one do a cover of someone elses song snd put as much feeling into it as the original artist.

Both of them really hit you when you hear them sing it.
But as far as I know, Cash changed some lyrics (may just be for radio).
Reznor's line: I wear this crown of ****
Cash's: I wear this crown of thorns
And Reznor really hits you during the chorus. I'd like to hear Cash get like that, too. But his almost sedated approach does offer his own perspective.

I thought that the earlier in the NIN version it is "crown of thorns" and then later on it goes to ****, whereas Cash sings "thorns" throughout. And I would definitely agree that the NIN version has a harder-hitting chorus.
