Wouldn't that denature the protein?

when you fry an egg.. u are denaturing the protein. that's why it turns white. i don't think that affects the nutrtion in the egg does it? if not... probably doesn't matter to the protein shake either.

I thought the egg whites have most of the protein?

Both the yolk and the white have about the same amount, but the yolk contains the fat of the egg as well as protein.

Oh. BTW, are the fats in the yolk mono and poly saturated?

Denaturing the protein doesn't render it useless. It just changes the structure of the protein. The body is gonna do that in the gut anyway, when it breaks the protein down to amino acids.

Hmm, mixing the protein in milk opposed to water then freezing it sounds pretty good.

well i made some protein ice cream up, taste quite nice.
all u need is the following.
100gms vanilla ice cream.
500ml milk
4-6 scoops of whey [ a good vanilla]
milkshake syrup flavour [crusha works well]

1. place all into a big bowl and blend
2. pour into container and freeze
3.eat

i think i'd rather have a cold shake than a "lolly" just because i think that could get a little messy as compared to a shake in a cup.

Freezing doesn't denature protein. Only heat and high acidity do that. Also, if you mix it with milk and put it into one of those icecream makers that you get at toys-r-us for little kids, that would probably work. Or even better, doesn't anyone have a snoopy-sno-cone machine lying around from when they were kids. Those things were the ****!

Oh man, how much do you think those snoopy-snow-cone machines are worth now?

I'm going to try the one from my post tonight. The one that uses pudding, whey, vanilla, water, something else.... I printed it out and put it in the kitchen. I'll let everyone know how it is!
