chris mason, im on week 7 of my 12 week bulk ive gone from 170 to 195 and still maintained relative leaness(not on purpose), how much more weight in your opinion should i bulk. my thoughts are 210-215 if i can do it. i know ur gonna say im not bulkin enuff but i am eatin 4000 cals a day and it is the most ive ever handled. your opinion is honored due 2 ur credentials

chris mason

I suppose my answer would depend on your goals. Was that picture recent? If so, you look great and I don't see the need to stop eating. You look quite lean to me. For me, I have never minded a bit of excess fat, but most people prefer a lean physique, especially on a frame like yours. If you want to maintain that look and bulk, I would say to do so until your bodyfat starts to creep up too quickly. You can watch this by measuring your waist when you first arise each morning.

Listen to your body, you will know when to start cutting.

Looking great, but better pics would help allot.

Decent symmetry, but... hard to make any evaluation.

I'm assuming thats a webcam.

Do us-and yourself- a favor and either borrow a friend's digital camera or even go buy a disposable (Kodak HQ is the best) and have it developed and put right onto CD. It doesnt cost much more than prints do(so long as you get no prints-just CD).

I dont think you'll be able to get a great picture that we can critique until you stop using a camera that was designed to cheaply and efficiently send amateur pornography from one depraved freak to another.

From what I can see in the yellow fuzzyvision is that your upper body is very symmetrical, and I've yet to see your arms but they look proportional.

Your legs..I cant make out much definition but I know I'm looking at them through vaseline, and that you are bulking as well... but hey, they're both the same size.

JHolmes145
03-19-2003, 01:27 PM
yea my pix suck ;( like i can take pics of each body part seperate and theyre decent, im gonna get a disposable 4 when im gonna attempt 2 max out 4 some cool weightroom fotos. and i jus woke up so for chris mason my waist is 31.im gonna take some more pix now that its day

You can tell traps by the pics that show your chest area. Flex or un flex you can tell how traps are built. The same goes for calves. Your leg shots show you have big quads, but calves usally stick out from the front. Whether their flex or not. Just my 2 cents. No offense though, like I said good overall.:D

Flamin ain't goana get you far bro... he was just offereing constructive criticism.

You look better, but I dunno if you look 2 years better. What exactly were you/are you aiming to do. I take it from your title that your a body builder, I would like to think you could have done more in 2 years, but either way you've done great and its a big improvement.

If anything I say your chest (and possibly legs, didnt get a good shot since the update) are the weak points. Have you been hitting those rear delts??

actually im not a bodybuilder, i like powerlifting more, and i dont compete in ne thing so i dont care bout asthetics or symmetry. as far as flaming goes whos flaming who? also as far as 2 yrs passing and not improving your right there has been the smallest percentage of improvement in the last 2 yrs since i started working out since i was 19. but thats normal ive been in the game for 5 yrs now and improvements are far and few between. now if i was morbidly obese and 0ver 300 lbs there would be a lot to improve and id have a ton of gains. or losses for that sake.

Good strength JHolmes.

Question, why not go all the way to your shoulders on the seated presses? I have noticed several people in the gym who do this and I wonder why?

JHolmes145
09-02-2006, 02:38 PM
actually i dont normally do 100's i was showin off for the cam! lol, but i was under the impression when your forearm and bicep make a 90 degrees that was full rom. ive been mainly doing standing bb press and i go down to my chest, but i cant do ne thing like 100's the most ive done with that is 165. so to answer your question i guess its 1 part too much weight and 1 part lack of knowledge of what the full rom is for the lift....

Not exactly sure what you mean by that...

For 24 months of dedicated training, you dont show that much of an improvement... ofcourse the crappy pictures can also be the blame IDK... espically the update pic. Its hard to tell anything... maybe more of a "shredded" look but even thats hard to depict from the pictures.

5 years isnt that long at all bro, lifters go 10-15 to even 20 years in the game with good results. Gains shouldnt be few and far between for you just yet.

Ok, I was just curious. I would recommend you use a full ROM for better overall strength and size.

"hey genius i didnt even have my legs in the new pic" is obvious sarcasm, he was only trying to be constructively critical. You posted in a bodybuilding picture forum, expect criticism or don't post.

Best of luck, and great gains so far.

I'm just going to ignore the drama goin' on here. You're looking pretty good though man, those lifts in the videos are solid for sure. I didn't quite catch your age, is it 21 or 24? Either way, that's pretty dope. I hope to be able to put that much on during my bulk. Keep liftin' hard my man.

#1. He was probably commenting on your legs in the 1st photo.

#2. You are bashing the hell out of your chest on the bench.

#3. Get a spotter to help get the 1st rep on the shoulde presses and you'll get atleast 6 reps.

okok thanks every1 on the resposes,

chris mason- i will re-evalute my rom on seated dbells, how many more inches was i off from full rom?

WBBirl- sorry if your unimpressed with the changes ive made in the last 2 yrs, and im sorry you feel gains should come easier. i am what i am and thats all i can be, what you see is what you get.

nosaj- im not a powerlifter or a bodybuilder, im always trying to get weight up and ur right the answer is eat, but please read my journal and look at how much i eat before coming to the conclusion im not eating enough. i guess irish coulda been talkin bout my earlier pics, but i was jus pointing out in my latest mm shot im wearing jeans, if he thinks my legs lack ask for a recent pic before jumping to concusions

cra-z- i am now 24 yrs old, my weight has changed from 120- over 200 in 5 yrs, but every summer i tend to lose some weight and every winter i gain it back and then some. good look on your bulk.

cphagner- if i had some1 spot me who would work the camera J/k... as for pounding my chest on bench i feel that maybe the frame rate is a misrepresentation since im using a 40 dollars kids camera i bought on ebay. look how fast the fat guy is moving near the end.

Cra-Z

talk 2 me in 7 yrs bro, i love when noobs thinks that gains go on a consistent curve upwards. even i used 2 think like that, but its a curve thats sharp for a cpl yrs and it levels off as fast as it went up. but think of it this way at 17, ur as big as i was at 20, so it is very possible.

if you weighed 180 at 15 and weigh less now then you are not considering compisition. jus because you weigh the same does not mean you have the same amount lbm and bf%. judge urself by the mirror not the scale.

this is 185 standing military 1x2 new pb. i got pumped to do this after some fat cheerleader like 250 lbs 50% bf on myspace was talkin trash bout my bench(imgaine me arguing with some1 on another site ;). i told him powerlifting is more impressive then cheerleading because we do weights in the 3-500 lbs range and anerexic female cheerleaders are like 90 lbs. i jus wanted to lift as much weight as i can over my head and challenged him to make a liftin vid. he declined which was predicatble.
