I just thought of this, but has anyone encountered any problems travelling with supplements in powdered form going through airport security? or any supplements come to think of it?

I just want to be prepared for when I fly out to my brother's wedding in July ,and I haven't seen anything in the news.

Interesting question. Creatine and glutamine might be questionable, though to fine a powder. The dog will know. If the pull you off the flight you'll know.

Mail enough to last you ahead of time....then you'll have no worries.

LOL, mailing white powder might not work either. Just don't send it in any envelopes to government employees. :D

Mailing would work fine, since they don't open the package.

Mail it but make sure you pack it, brick it and vacume seal it and send it in coffee beans.

I took a small thing of creatine with me in my carry on last time I flew home. Mind you it was a domestic flight. The security people looked at me kind of funny, but then once I took my coat off to be patted down, they seemed to believe me and just let it go through. There may be a bit more of an issue though if you're flying from Colombia to JFK or Pearson or something, but like was mentioned before, the dogs will pick it up, and once one of the customs guys tastes it, there'll be no problem. You might want to try taking only factory sealed containers with you though....

Hell, I even took some AAS in my luggage last time, and no one even bothered to ask... Once again, domestic flights are a bit less sketchy on that sort of thing though. At least they are here in Canada

why would you do this? Are you joking trying to cause a scene? Probably get into trouble doing that.
Its not a drug, so doesn't smell like a drug. Rin Tin Tin will know the difference. The problem with factory sealed is the way back.

Good point though Berserker, I dunno what its like as far as domestics go in the US now, but in Canada, its no problem taking that sort of thing back and forth. They just swab anything that looks suspicious and put it through a sniffer to detect drugs. If its clean, you're on your way. Factory sealed just speeds things up one way. On the way back, it might just take an extra minute to go through security.

You should not have any problems taking your supplement with you. To avoid any hassle, just leave them in your checked baggage.

The Invision EDS (Explosive Detection System) at most of the US airports will not flag creatine or protein powders as a threat. Even if it does flag it as a protential threat, the baggage screener will open your bag and swipe it down with a ETD system.

So, don't worry, as long as you are carrying "real" creatine or protein, you should have no problems.
