View Full Version : Why is Narc not fat?

Seriously. I'm wondering how in the world 10,000 cals a day can be partitioned mainly to muscle growth rather than fat storage.

I mean, sure, he's working out intensely, and to weigh that much must cost a lot in terms of BMR. And there's the thermic effect of food itself. But that can't be all of it. He should be enormously fat on top of all that muscle!!!

Anybody know why/how this would work?

He either lies or is a freak of nature. Take your pick.

There are many possibilities:

There is a large genetic component. Some people's wieghts are very resistant to change beyond a certain range. Some think the extra calories are used in "futile cycles" that waste energy via dieatary thermogenesis. In the Sims overeating studies, prisioners with average weights tried to gain 20-25% of their bodyweight by eating as much as they could for 6 months. Sims found the amount of calories eaten was relatively independent from the weight gained. Some were resistant to gaining weight and needed to eat 10,000 calories per day to maintain the weight. Others gained the weight with a small fraction of this total.

Some athletes eat 10,000 calories per day and burn a lot of calories. 10,000 calories per down is not that unusual for certain endurance events, like the Tour de France. Guys with lots of muscle need more calories, and a few big guys claim very high totals. I believe bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman said he eats 8,000 to 10,000 calories/day in an interview. UFC competitor Mark Kerr claims to eat more than this. I have listed his diet (as reported in another forum) at the bottom of this post.

Finally, he may be lying or exagerrating. These seems especially likely if Narc stands for Narcissistic. Persons with a Narcissistic Personality Disorder are known for "exaggerating achievements and talents to the point of lying."

yeah, did it happen to mention how long it took him til he had quintuple bypass surgery?

im sorry but that is just too much bs, that dinner, nobody could eat that much, narc probably could out-eat me(that sounded funny), but even he couldnt eat that much food in one sitting.
