View Full Version : Curling video

Ok, I took a video of me performing what I consider to be good form curls. I had a problem because, like an idiot, I forgot to erase the previous video from my camera. Thus, when I thought I was filming myself on my first heavy attempt, I was not:mad: ! I then decided to take a long rest and redo it. I think my form was a bit sloppier on the videod set due to my desire to repeat my fresh performance, but it was good enough. I got 185 x 2. Now, this is a lot less than 225, but the form was much better. Next time I train arms heavy, I will get a video of the sloppier 225.

Anyway, I am going to stream the video to Howser and hopefully he will be able to get it online soon.

So then, explain this when you put the video up, instead of making a post with nothing in it yet..?

I do it this way so that Howser can just post the link in this thread.

I noticed that you put up a sign that said WBB. That could have been done by anyone any time. So I suggest you put "Eric is my best friend!!!!" for your next vid :D

Holy sh*t chris, good work man!:thumbup:

You really need to get up a video of your friggin' support rows, them I am dying to see.

I cannot get over how WIDE your grip is on BB curls. Mine is right at shoulder-width. Any benefit to doing them wider? Ill have to give them a shot that way.

As a note of interest, I plan to chronicle all of my lifting claims from now on.

nice

do you get any forearm pain doing 'em with the straight bar?

I can only get 135 for a coupla reps but I find that with a straight bar it just kills my forearms; EZcurl bar makes it a lot more comfy

chris mason

I have never had that problem, why, I have no idea.

Oh, and thanks.

Dude, that front double bi kicked ass!

Nice curl too:)

For someone who claims to be fat you have great seperation in your arms.

That's some really nice lifting. What kind of warm up do you do before that? That's just a lot of weight on the forearms, bi's and shoulders, not too mention the joints. I was just curious as to how you got ready for that.

You're curling almost as much as I can power clean. LOL, if I tried curling that, it'd look like I was power cleaning it.

Thanks.

About the warmup, read my journal, I know nobody does, but I detailed it in there (please note the play for attention).

Chris that is amazing, Strength in its element!!

Your pose was also quality :) it really demonstrated the true quality of your size, Think back to the last set of pictures you posted and how they didnt do you justice.

The video rectified that :)

I need a video camera. I'm going to take shots of myself curling the bar. My form sucks, but 45lbs is a lot!

Then, if that one gets good feedback, I'll show my world-famous 95lbsx3 bench press.

gotta love the pose at the end, very nice. good strength, especially because you look pretty lean, nice veins in the arms.
I am glad to see you are not a "swing set sam" as i like to call them.

Swole: Oh contrare my friend, I actually normally train heavier and looser!

Powerman: Wtf did you say???

For everyone else, thanks.

hehe way cool, I dont understand why someone just are able to curl so much more than me, when I try so hard my self, hehe.

and your double biceps is awesome, your right arm is a tad bigger, or it might be the angle, but those are strong arms, and you look every thing from fat.

chris mason
03-25-2003, 08:19 AM
Well Rock, as Chicken so poignantly pointed out to me in another thread, my arms are deceptively lean with regards to my belly and lower back.

I do appreciate the compliment.

No worries, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. I am curious, why don't you post a video showing me how to do it?

Who cares about arm curls? Let's see a video of some dumbell kickbacks if you are so tough!

Truly impressive Chris. I thought the form was good, also considering you had done a heavy set before that.

Super LIFT CHRIS !!!! 2x84kg !! even if form was not 'perfect' that's VERY impressive !!!! I love barbell Curl but I can only do 15x49kg !! You have impressive GUNS !!!

How do you train for curl ? how many sets (rep range) and how often ?

thank you Chris !!!

PS how much can you do on triceps extension (barbell) ?

i could be critical about form, but **** it that was alot of weight to be curling. good job.

chris mason
03-27-2003, 04:25 PM
Ok form freaks, next time I curl, I will perform the movement with no body movement whatsoever. Geez...

oh, and thanks for the compliments all.

One more thing, if anyone has ever seen a picture of Arnold curling back in the day, or any contemporary pro in the gym, that curl is as strict as it gets. Don't be fooled by what you read.

Mr. Chris Mason I respect a man who curls more than most people bench.

Good job! The best part was your pose at the end!

Are you going to be posting any more videos?

How about a deadlift or bench press video? I wasn't able to view your squat video because my computer wouldn't open it.http://www.smilies.org/basesmilies3/1040738187.gif
