Some guy in the gym today said that i should wait 90 seconds between sets.
this was during leg press. what do you guys think of this guys advice.
I thought he was an idiot but I would like to hear what anyone has to say about it.

Why not follow a routine similar to your brother's?
I remember when I got my brother to join the gym. He was always very thin, like 135 lbs at 6' when he was in college. His is older than me by 4 tears. Anyway, I could never get him to train his legs hard (believe me, I tried), but he did train his upper body hard and got up to the 175 range while remaining very lean. I actually remember feeling a bit jealous of him from time to time. Anyway, it was cool having him train.

Well, that is not horrible advice. Your time between sets should be more of an individual thing. It partially depends on your goals. For now, just rest until you feel ready to hit the next set hard. Nothing more technical than that.
I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but I used to live in Albuquerque. We lived in the northeast heights area. That was a long time ago, the early 80s.

Thanks, this actually is the same routine that my brother is doing. He says that we are going to lower the volume when progression slows or stops.
I appreciate your input.

That's pretty much what I told him about the rest between sets. I prefer to rest till I feel I can give maximum effort into my next set, especially with legs.
Wow, what a coincidence, we also live in the northeast heights. Small world.

what about doing DL's on back day, and then doing squats on leg day?
