View Full Version : Old Row and Dead Videos

Well, I finally got the interface between my old digital camera and computer to work. So I thought I'd post two old videos I took a while back, probably around October if I remember correctly.

The first is 225x12 on bent over rows. And the second is a 485x1 dead if I recall correctly. Although I'm not positive that was the weight and the video is kind of dark.

Although I do need somebody to host these for me, so any help would be appreciated. Both files are under a meg.

The dead's pretty poor. I didn't use any chalk and lost my grip nearing lockout. But just to give an idea I suppose.

Looks good to me. Nice form.

Awesome job on both BCC, really impressive man.

Keep up the hard work.

Rows are pretty much exactly how I do them by the way.

chase: both look very good. definitely some crazy music going on in your gym. most of the time the gym monitors have on smooth r&b at mine.
do you do sumos to build up strength, or do you think that they have benefits for bodybuilding purposes?

BCC

Lol. Oh, our normal gym music sucks unbelievably. The gym was closed when I took those videos.

I generally don't do sumos a whole lot, but I feel they benefit me in the glute department, I feel them in my glutes more than I feel squats.

Excellent form on the rows Chase! Well done. It's nice to see you lift so well as I'm a form and technique junkie.

hmm...interesting. when i did sumos that one time with alex, i felt them mostly in my lower back. however, with stiff-leggeds, i almost exclusively feet it in my glutes and hams. that's why i love them.

Thanks Maki

Narc, it my just be my torso to leg ratio. I've got fairly long legs for my size, so my range of motion is shortened with sumos and I feel them a lot less in my lower back.

Nice job on both Chase, real nice. Your row form looks more like Narc's to me. The ROM is longer, but the angle and plane of motion is very similar. Do you use the same form to row 300+ lbs?

Thanks Chris. Yes that's the same form I use for 300+ pounds, and it's the same form Luke used on 455x5, although his may have possibly been better.

 !!

Sweet Chase, damn my form is no where near like those barbell rows, your like at 70degrees, whereas im down at 45d i think.

Would you say that doing rows like that has benefitted your back more?

Thanks, and yes I would say Yates style is the way to go. It's definitely what I prefer. I most definitely feel it has benefitted my back.

Those dead look easy!

That's how I do my barbell rows as well, when I used to do em. I topped out at 235x6.

Lol. Thanks man. I don't know about looking huge, I was barely 185 pounds in that video. But thanks for the compliments bro.

you sure are, when I come to the states, and we train together, is it okay if we listen to ac/dc?

BCC
04-16-2003, 10:54 AM
Heh, you know, I like AC/DC. But the other day I was actually in an argument with a coworker about whether or not AC/DC was good lifting music. I voted not, but I suppose whatever floats your boat.

Bloody well done champ:thumbup: Just imagine where he is now because that was back in October sometime. Around 6-7 months later I imagine he's quite a bit bigger. The dude's a freak I tell ya!

Great form BCC, those were some strict reps. I remember your pics from, I think it was close to 2 years ago. Your progress has never ceased to amaze me. Good liftin music by the way.

Very nice lifts, particularly impressive on the rows.

Do you feel it helps to use such a narrow stance while rowing? When I do mine I'm a little wider than shoulder for balance. It seems like your feet are only 3 or 4 inches apart when your doing yours, any reason?

Behemoth
04-18-2003, 01:46 PM
BTW, how about making some current vids? It'd be great to see your current dead and rows as they have progressed tremendously in the months since october!

BCC

Thanks guys and gals

Behemoth I usually just stand with a close stance because it feels much tighter and smooth.

I may be putting some new videos up soon.
