Alright my first question is that i heard it is best if you don't take any carbs after 7:00. Right now the only carbs I have after 7:00 are the milk that i mix with my glutamine and protein powder. I was wondering if i should keep up with this routine or after 7:00 mix my glut and protein with water. Another question is i heard that it is better to mix your protein powder with water after your workout, is this true. My last question is i heard that anytime you have glutamine it should be mixed with water and seperate from the protein shake. Right now i put the glut and protein in 1 cup and mix it all with milk. Thanks

yeah, if you mix after workout protein shake with water it absorbs faster. becouse the milk takses longer to digest.

as for the other questions i let someone else handle it cuz im still a :newbie:

I think having low GI carbs are fine to have in the evening. I say stick with mixing your protein shake with milk to help slow the absorbtion or maybe try eating some cottage cheese as your last meal of the day which is loaded with caisen (slow digesting protein).

My last question is i heard that anytime you have glutamine it should be mixed with water and seperate from the protein shake.

Whenever I took glutamine I just dissolved it into a little bit of water and drank it down, then you could just mix up your protein shake. I am unsure as to whether there is any science behind doing it this way but if you are in doubt it would be the way to go IMO.

i dont see any need to keep glutamine separate -- afterall it is just another protein.

I think the reasoning for this is to give your body time to metabolize the carbs you ingested earlier in the day, and thus attempt to prevent them being stored as fat. 7:00 is just a guideline.

There are a lot of things here that have been discussed many times before. Do a search. Personally, I drink about 8 g glutamine 30 min before workout and early morning, try for an empty stomach, I think I read that protein and glut compete for absorbtion, so more glut is absorbed when taken seperately. Protein shake in water with dextrose immediately PWO. I drink whey with milk troughout the day, sometimes mix flax with it because whey is a relatively fast absorbing protein, and the fats help slow down digestion.

Hope this helps.

Cals in versus cals out. Honestly, if you're still under maintenance at the end of the day, you aren't going to magically gain fat because you ate some carbs. I'm sure there are exceptions, but honestly some low GI carbs in the evening won't hurt.

Liquid fats will not slow the absorbtion although the milk will.

All free form amino acids are better absorbed on an empty stomach.
