View Full Version : Can this be true?

I have been through (2) 10lb buckets of Nlarge and put on about 5lbs with it.
I currently stopped taking that and started just Optimum 100% whey and it seems as if I put on about 7lbs in a couple of weeks with this. My diet hasn't changed and I am doing nothing different other than taking the 100% whey without any Nlarge. Is it possible to gain more weight (which I wanna do) with 100% whey? This makes no sense to me, so if someone can put it in perspective for me, it would be cool. Thanks ya'll! ;)

You clearly consumed more calories when on the optimum nutrition whey. In - out = accumulation. You can't create mass you can only consume it. The other option is that your metabolism took a nose dive...

Optimum Nutrition Whey is only about 120 cals / serving if I remember correctly. N-Large2 is 600 / serving.

That's what I'm saying. Something has changed. It is either your metabolism or what you have eaten.

I assume you were eating the same amount of protein before and after since you didn't answer my question
the simple sugars can accelerate your metabolism
also the sugar can reduce you sensitivity to insulin which is your bodies most anabolic hormone

again, I have done nothing different. Protein intake is the same as always.

Well, diabetes does run in my family some. Why do you ask that? I do get blood work done at the dr. to check on all that stuff and everything is always in good shape.

this is the explanation to your phenomena no doubt
this means you and your ancestors are predisposed to becoming insulin resistant/pre-diabetic and eventually diabetic
the reason you are not pre-diabetic is because you train and likely eat well
the point is STAY AWAY from the N-large
all that liquid sugar is making you insulin resistant
this makes it more difficult for insulin to bind to a muscle cell's insulin receptor to encourage uptake of nutrients like protein, glucose, creatine

so what about something like Phosphagen? I liked Cell Tech when I took it, but I don't buy that anymore because of $. Thanks for the input!

Are you saying anything that causes an insulin spike could be harmful for me?

I assume you were taking the N-Large at times other than/in addion to post w/o
I think the spike post w/o is a great idea and if you only get one then you should be fine
just the fact that you train makes it very difficult to develop diabetes
