if cooked spaghetti is 40 cals/oz. and dry spaghetti is 100 cals/oz. what value do i use for calorie counting?

I'd use the cooked weight. The reason the cooked spaghetti is less cals/oz than the dry spaghetti is the water absorbed by the pasta makes up a large part of the weight. Unless you plan on crunching some of the dry stuff :)

I use the dry weight always because that's the weight that comes in the package. It makes no difference, like Powerhalf said it's just a matter of absorbed water.

doesn`t matter i suppose. if your nitpicky like pre contest measure dry because they dont always absorb the same amount of water. if your just being normal do as you wish
