Does it actually is benifical to have that large amount of steak in one sitting or not ?

Because that steak was like 60gr+ of proteins

Well, like you said, the protein is beneficial. Plus, steak is good :)

Because that steak was like 60gr+ of proteins Who cares if its beneficial or not? Its a nice juicy steak! I'd eat twice that amount and not worry about it.

I've had 500 gr of beef in one meal more than once. Nothing wrong with it, it just sits on your stomach for a while.

i dont know exactly how beneficial it was. but i dont see what it could hurt, unless of course you were the animal that the steak came from. IMO.... EAT ON! :D

Well your body will digest however much protein you eat. How much of that is actually used for muscle recover and repair would vary from person to person I think. There has been many ongoing debates and from what I have read there is no solid number that can be used and the rest will all be wasted. What I mean is a 200lb person can probably use more protein for muscle recovery and repair than say a 150lb person.

hrrm, im not 100% on what the argument stated, i just remembered readin that number in a thread posted way back about protein obsorption..

You can have any amount of protein in one sitting, it's just hard to consume alot. Protein digest more slowly, keeping you full longer.

Well it wouldn't be that hard to consume 100g of whey.

I think what he is asking is how much would be beneficial in terms of using the protein for muscle repair, etc. Whatever amount you eat is of course going to be digested and used in some manner whether stored as fat or used for energy.

270 grams? That's about a third the size of my average steak. :)

WillKuenzel

That's something like 6oz isn't it? I don't buy it unless its over a 1.5lbs.

I hate going to restraunts and ordering steaks. They look at you funny when you ask for 2. Rare please.

Yeah, 270 grams is like... 10 ounces?

Yeah, that's a sissy steak. My steaks the last 2 nights have been 18-20 oz each, which still doesn't even seem all that big when I'm eating it

WillKuenzel

Yep, 9.5oz

r e s u l t
270.000 gram [g] equivalent to: 9.5310 ounce [oz]

I just run the whole cow through a woodchipper, then drink it through a straw.

Woodchipper? That's a small calf, you'd need an industrial sized mulcher for the cows I'm talking about. Like this one. (http://bbc.net.uk/science/genes/gene_safari/wild_west/bigger_and_better02.shtml) You know, the kind of mulcher that they have to haul around on the back of an 18-wheeler.

I just swim in the stuff and eat it as I go. Hopefully getting some in through osmosis too.
