Hello,
Went to the gym yesterday and thought I would try some deadlifts for the first time :D , Well anyway I thought I would just keep working my way up in weight well I stated with 180lbs and toyed with it, so I got cocky and put on 2 more 45lb'ers, wow that was good so then I'm at 45x6 plates (270lbs) so I did 3 sets of those then I thought I would just start adding on some more 10lb ones well anyway I got to 330lbs, I was really struggling (but did manage to lockout on two of them) with that but it was great legs were shaking I think I might have found a new favorite exercise and I'm sore as #$% but now I know why u guys encourage them so much cause I really got a good workout for my whole body and never realized that they were such a great compound exercise.
To bad I'm cutting right now cause I know that these will totally help with putting on mass but oh well anyway guess I will have to wait till winter :(

But my question is what is the world record for a 18yr old with powerlifting (eg. bench, squat, deadlift)?

Anyway
Thanks Bubba

I'm not sure why you wouldn't want deadlifts in your routine, do you not do squats or bench press as well? even if you're on a cut, you stick to the same routine. As for your sets, I don't see how you're going to accomplish anything with just a whole lot of low rep + high number of sets

record, no clue, but I know people my age benching 300@ ~200 pounds so I'm guessing it's a lot more than that

Ya I'm not using them in my routine just squats for the legs and running and incline leg press.
But was just expiermenting with them so thus the low rep high #'s.

I'm 18 and I deadlift 400, so it's higher than that...

so does anyone have any ideas as to what the world record is for an 18yr old?
For bench,squat,deads?

Well, I don't know any world records, but you should check out Narc's deadlift movie at the member pics board.

I'm sure it's more than you'd think. I have a friend who at 18 was benching 405 and squatting 580. now at 21 he's benching 450 and squatting 650
