it was ok, just not the same metallica.

i thought korn was doing a good job on 'One' until they wussed out and didnt play the end....total proof that no band today has the talent of the bands of yesterday. none of the bands could play a kirk solo, sadly enough the avril guitar player did the best job. im still not sold on seeing them this summer.

I saw it and I was tripping out when Snoop Dog did "Sad but true"

I said the same thing about Korn. I told my girl "they left out the best part of the song" and she straight said it't because they can't and no band now adays can play that fast and sound that good like they can.

Metallica being my favorite band of all time, I was sad I couldn't watch this because I had this schoolwork to do, ****! But I'll either catch it on a rerun or borrow it from someone who recorded it.

although it was a much better song than anything on their last 2 albums, I hardly think this song qualifies as going back to their roots.

Avril Lavigne should not be singing any Metallica lyrics, it is way before her time. The only good thing i see about her doing a track is that hopefully the pathetic youth will see the signifacance of Metallica and how they really are an icon of the music industry.

Because I DID like them 10,000 times more than you ever will. I lived, breathed, ate and sh*t Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, etc. They were MY bands.

When something you love turns into sh*t, it always matters.

I often think it would have been better if the whole band had died during their bus accident, rather than just Cliff. Sure, we'd have missed out on 2 more good albums(Garage Days and Justice) but we would have been spared the pansy-a**sed sh*t Metallica has been churning out for the last 13 years.

they are a good example of bands that "arent in it for the money" until they finally get their hands on some money.

well, they got old, there music got a little softer, but they are still good, just not as good

I diagree. They canged, but who cares? If you only judged Led Zeppelin by their first album or first two albums, you would have hated their other albums completely. But they're a classic from their first to their last album. Someone should have convinced them their little reuinion was a bad idea a few years ago, but hey. Bands change. How old must it get to play the same **** over and over and over again.

I'm going to have to catch the rerun I guess.

I wish they would ditch Lars. I haven't liked him ever since his crusade against Napster a few years back. The problem though is that he probably is the reason why the band got anywhere to begin with. It sounded like they probably would have been done after Cliff died if it wasn't for Lars. I also still think many of their best songs were the ones Dave Mustaine was involved with. (even though it sounds like he didn't get credit for some other early ones)

well i will never go see them live again, simply based on the last time i saw them. but my main gripe about them, isn't that their music changed so much from speed metal to wuss rock, but their entire attitude that defined metallica and that generation was dropped.

i realize that as people age from angry adolesents to mature adults the style of "poetry" changes, but they completely abandoned the style and routine that made them who they are, and was loved by so many.

i guess this all depends on how much somebody loves music, and for a long time i had an incredible passion for music. but in the early 90's when metal was pushed to the backburner, or more like completely dropped off the face of the earth thanks to mtv's new love for Nirvana and Soundgarden, Metallica could have been the answer to bring back metal to the front, and instead they completely wimped out and gave us Load. Load of crap. the entire 'just be yourself' attitude that they were known for was totally dropped for the new clean cut money machine. i dont know, im rambling, but they arent very good anymore, not just cuz their new stuff sucks, but they cant even play the old stuff anymore.

I agree. She didn't even know who David Bowie is how can she really know about rock and roll and if she doesn't the once who came before and paved the road for her stupid ass.
"David Bow-wee"? ...dumbass.

Looked to me like a commercialized BS advertisement for their upcoming album directed at their 15 year old target audience.

Sold out.

The Metallica *I* was a fan of would have never done that. Cliff Burton is rolling over in his grave.

In case you didn't know, in Europe it's pronounced BOW-WEE. Americans ****ed his name up, not her.
