I cant belive what i found today, i have been a regular buyer of nitro-tech bars for the best 5 months, they may be a high price but i dont mind paying especially because i dont smoke or drink often, so i feel its okay.

But i bought one today and their was a little sign on the back (newly added) stating about impact carbs, i then looked at the carb total and it had risen from 6g-36g!!! and guess what the ingredients have remained constant.

I feel a bit betrayed tbh as the bars have probably contained 36g all along, i wouldnt of minded so much but i feel its not ethically correct to hide info from the honest customer. Im not really complaining becuase i gained well, but it would of been nice to know the actual breakdown of the bar.

Thought i would share that little find with you all :)

EAS does it too. since they don;t have to label **** like sugar alcohols and glycerine. Look at that new "fitness beer" 95 calories per serving but only 2.6g of carbs WTF? a beer is nothing but carbs by my calculations it should have 24g of carbs

The label on the beer is correct. You have to factor in that alcohol is 7 calories per gram.

Big Ron-

You are right in that the bars have the same ingredients as they always have. The new labeling laws/guidelines forced the supplement manufacturers to change the labels. If you notice even though the carbs have changed the total calories have remaind the same, at least in the Nitro-Tech bars. I wouldn't worry about it because I think you are going to find the same thing has happened with all bars.

At least they just didn't all of sudden tell you the bars had 100 more calories than the label claimed:D

I don't think the supplement companies were doing anything underhanded. They were following the guidlelines that were set forth as far as labeling the supplements. Do I agree with the way things are done in the supplement business, no.

I think the case with the Detour bars was more serious because people claimed (don't really know if the label was wrong) that the company just did not label the bar correctly (incorrect sugar amounts, etc.), where as companies like Muscletech and EAS were following the labeling guidelines.

I wouldnt of minded 100 cals more but 100 cals less and there would have been deaths! :)

Some nice replies guys, i think im going to just stick with making my own with just the occassional bar, i just cant wait till Atlarge gets itself in shape.

Big-Ron:

as far as your concerned the bar was accurate from the beginning the carbs that are not "impact carbs" are indigestible and don't yield energy

this is why the total cals is not effected

not to worry

I thought that was weird too, I noticed the labels changed and at first I was gonna start looking for another bar. But after looking and seeing that nothing else changed, then it was probably that way from the beginning and they were just not saying the whole truth. Makes you wonder what else is hidden from us in the bars?
