I have read the creatine sticky and creatinefacts.com, but I'm still confused. I'm kind of on a plateau ..thinking about going creatine for a while

Does it really cause hair loss? ANd how long do i have to be on it before I see results?

I don't know where you got the hairloss thing from, but that is a new one.
so my answer is no.
creatine is in the meat that you eat, your body makes creatine.
It's nothing new.
YOU ARE ALREADY ON IT AND DON'T EVEN KNOW IT. :)

The effects are immediate.
Load if you want and don't load if you don't.

No, creatine does not cause hair loss.

Creatine is in our food (red meat) but Creatine monohydrate isn't (the powder you buy). But the H group attached to it is supposed to be inert so there is no difference. In short I have experience the only real side effects of creatine.... water retention and mass gain.

The only side affect to creatine is getting the runs the first few days.

I read it on creatinefacts.com (think thats the url).
It said:

There is a lot of misinformation circulating about creatine. Rumors abound as to possible side effects arising from creatine use. We have heard allegations of increased aggressiveness, hair loss, stunted growth, stimulated growth, and breast formation in men resulting from creatine use. Some side effects have been substantiated in the scientific literature while other have not. Furthermore, not all of the side effects reputedly connected with creatine use are deleterious. Others, on the other hand, need to be taken seriously. Potential adverse side effects would be most critical in children and women who are pregnant or nursing.

I think I'm already starting to recede a little bit (not noticeable). I definitely didnt want to do anything to speed the process up :D
Maybe I'll give it a try. Provided no ones lost hair on it ;)

The most common side effect is an upset stomach i.e. the runs.

This can be avoided if you drink lots of water, and don't take too much in at one time. If you decide to load, split the dosages into smaller amounts more frequently, if you have problems with your stomach.

"We have heard allegations of increased aggressiveness, hair loss, stunted growth, stimulated growth, and breast formation in men resulting from creatine use."

These allegations are blatant lies. It's as simple as that.

those sound more like sides from steroid use.

I am reading now creatinefacts.com, that claims to be "honest", and I can not understand why they put a link to a web in that somebody USES creatine and ask me for money in order to sell me something. By the way, in three months this guy is looking as having ten years more, is this another side effect?, will I look as a man in his 40's if I try creatine? :) :) :) :)

Mr. "biologist", do you know how creatine works? If not, would you kindly stop giving out uninformed statements all over this board. Thanks.
