Which would be more beneficial for putting on LBM without gaining too much fat:

1) Eating 500 calories above maintenance, and also doing HIIT cardio 3 times a week, or

2) Eating 300 calories above maintenance and doing no cardio.

Would I be able to put on more LBM with option 1 AND target fat by doing HIIT? Or am I better off with less calories and more rest?

Thanks.

PS- I put on BF easily, if that makes a difference.

I think option one would be better for you, HIIT is very good at burning fat, while maintaining muscle, and option two would take a little more than twice as long to see results and grow

I would also go with option one.

I think performing some type of cardio is beneficial whether bulking or cutting. With that being said I also think you might have to eat more than 500 cals over maintenance to gain some weight since you will be adding in the cardio. Just add cals slowly until you are gaining a small amount of weight each week. If you concentrate on gaining slowly then this should help in making sure that you are gaining mostly LBM.

Thanks. Does gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time only apply to new trainers, or anyone with high BF? Im not new really, but I AM fat
