Hey, what is the difference between a protein shake and meal replacement shakes ?

All I can see is that meal replacements have only 150 more calories... and more sugar...

Let me know what you think of meal replacements, thanks

the difference is the ingredients

protein powder = protein with very little carbs and fat
mrp = an entire meal: protein, carbs, fat, vitamins

an mrp is worth it if you need another quick, easy meal during the day. i will purchase both many times. the protein powder allows me to control how much protein and how much carbs i want after training - and i also add the protein to oatmeal for another meal. it depends on your needs and lifestyle.

Unless you are just crunched for time I would just buy some protein powder and combine it with other convenient foods to make a meal.

For example you could combine the protein powder with some oats and natty pb which would be just as good as an MRP and much cheaper. Another idea would be to have some ww bread with pb and a shake with it. You get the idea:)

MRP's are a waste of time and money, pro's and supps companies are parading the mrp's at the moment as some kind of golden tool. But it is a big rip and the ingredients are usually not upto scratch. Like brad said oats, whey and natty pb is the only way to go and its a damn site cheaper too!

I agree 100%

1 Cup Oats
2 Cups Milk(or water)
1 Scoop Whey
1 TBSP Natty PB

and there is your tasty (and cheap) MRP :)
